I am a Christian; therefore I believe the world will end by the events as set forth in the bible’s book of Revelation as referenced as follows:
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them." Revelation 20:11 " You see the idea mentioned again in Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." The earth will be wiped out of existence by the glory of God the Father, but I am not entirely sure this is what people are thinking of when they mention "the end of the earth".
In the scenario above, Jesus has already spent 1000 years living with the people of earth, and Satan has been locked up for that whole period. This time will be tranquil and will have been a great healing time for the world. At the end of this millennial reign, God wipes the sleight of material existence clean and creates a new heaven and earth for its inhabitance. He will then dwell forever with man, eternally.
Sadly, I believe the more common conception of the "end of the world" is the idea that some traumatic event will take place to utterly damage the earth and destroy huge portions of population. Unfortunately, this is also prophesied about in the Bible. Just about the entire book of Revelation walks us through a catastrophic destruction of earth and its people. Staring with Chapter six, we see the seven seals opened which bring global war, famine, Earth quakes, major, false prophets, lawlessness and persecution of believers in Christ. Most would probably say this is not the end of the earth, but maybe the beginning of the end.
But as we finish up the seals in chapter six and move further into Revelation, we find events that more closely fall into the category we are looking for. Rev 6:12-14 "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. Also, in chapter eight we have hail mingled with fire that burns up one third of all trees on the earth, not to mention ALL the grass! There is a giant mountain of rock that slams into the sea, killing a third of the sea life, and destroying a third of our ships. A third of the clean drinking water is poisoned which kills many. Revelation 8:12 hints that the earth its self will be spinning faster that it should. Imagine days that only last 16 hours long! But it only gets worse.
Chapter nine reveals that a giant pit will be opened up on the surface of earth that will release horrid bugs and thick smoke upon the earth. These bugs will torment the people on earth stinging them with poison that does not kill, but creates unbearable pain. Revelation 9:6 “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them." To cap this all off, a giant army will sweep the earth killing one third of humanity. Matthew 24:29-30 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
Matthew 24:33 "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors."
According to Matthew 24, Jesus will come in glory and will send out his angels to gather his chosen ones from the four corners of the world.

Therefore I believe the earth will end by a chain of events that will ultimately lead to catastrophic destruction. Afterwards the earth will be transformed by God to His glory and inherited by the meek and ruled by Christ as King.

The End of the Human Race

The end of the human life is hard to determine. It’s hard to determine whether it will happen or not, but people question if one day we face it and people have their own assumptions on how we could face it. I have heard people say a meteor will take out our place here on earth, I have heard that God himself will come down here and end all life, everyone has their own thoughts on this but we may never know until it happens.
My thought on this topic, is that it is a natural cycle. From the way the planet seems to be acting or reacting to things have made me believe that all planets have this type of possibility. I believe each planet, even the first planet from the sun, Mercury, has had some type of life form on it, possibly human life as well. I think that at some point in time, a very long time ago, the sun was not as hot as it is now.
I think that at some point in time, where the temperature of the sun was at its lowest it allowed life to inhabit Mercury. The reason I believe this could be a possibility, is because scientist have already determined the sun is getting hotter. Our polar ice caps are melting, changes in weather are insanely occurring, and the ozone is deteriorating. True, we are to blame for the deterioration of our ozone, but could the fact that the sun is getting hotter also be aiding in that fact of deterioration?
Also the fact that scientist have found life on Mars, the fourth planet from the sun, also makes me question my theory. To me the earth as of now sits in a right temperature to allow life to be here. It has allowed our oceans; weather and many life forms, from microscopic cells to humans survive. Although, the sun is only one factor of life, life heavily depends on it. We couldn’t live in a frozen planet or a blazing hot one. Food could not be grown and harvested and many of our day to day living couldn’t happen if it was not for the suns temperature allowing us to do so.
So what I believe is that, our planet is getting hotter, life will slowly start dying off and one day the possibility of the human race may perish, do to this. Earth is getting hotter while Mars is warming up, life forms such as water molecules have been found, only making my theory seem more correct. Temperatures are in a range which is allowing a life cycle. Maybe small as of now, but maybe one day life forms such as humans will inhabit the once uninhabitable planet of Mars, and the once inhabitable planet earth will be too hot to have life, leaving it an uninhabitable planet.

From the darkness of our solar system we see a beautiful blue planet; one teeming with life. Massive bodies of water, large pieces of land, lush forests, and billions of evolved life forms. Earth, a planet that sounds quite wonderful, but is it? Each day the unexplainable happens to question our existence. Each day we are faced with probabilities that could wipe out the human race as we know it.

Let's face the facts, this big blue marble planet of ours has been around longer than we have, it has a mind of its own and can pull the plug on our happy little existence. Anything can happen; scientists and researchers have come up with hundreds of theories of just exactly how our demise could be from. One thing that people tend to forget is that there are different ways you can define the end of the world. Many say it is the end of all life on Earth, others say the actually of the phrase, the literally put end of the world, as in the end of the planet Earth itself.

Global Warming has been around ever since the dawn of time. Mother Nature always has to take its course. Long before us humans took over; Mother Nature threw Ice Ages and Heat Waves at the world in moderate and extreme levels. The earth has always had it’s cycle of events, but now, with human interference, we have been escalating the process. We are already feeling the wrath. An example of that would be today, January 8, 2008; it is 70 degrees in Pittsburgh, PA. Before the Industrial Era hit the world, the climate seemed to go through certain patterns of events in a stable way. Yeah of course there were deep freezes that killed off most of the life on Earth, but there was a method to the madness. Before humans evolved into industrialized being, the climate changes were based upon the Earth's orbit around the sun, the changes in the sun's intensity, volcanic eruptions, greenhouse gas concentrations, and also the change in the ocean's currents. Just a quick run down of what these occurrences do. The Earth's orbit isn't always in a circular form, because the Earth is turning as it is orbiting around the Sun, it's tilt and how close it gets to the Sun and also how far away it gets from the Sun determines how much sunlight is received.

The Sun's intensity is an obvious change in climate on our part, if the sun isn't putting out strong solar signals, then we are going to feel the coolness. Then of course you have the continuous volcanic eruptions that are pouring aerosols and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. These emissions cool and warm the Earth for short terms, as long as the eruptions aren't super eruptions.

Carbon Dioxide is also released by the oceans, the Earth's orbit and the oceans work hand in hand to control the concentrations of greenhouse gases as well as distributing the amount of heat around the globe. Any slight disruption or change can significantly effect the climate regionally as well as globally.

Ever since the Industrial Era, carbon dioxide levels have increased almost 40%, methane release into the atmosphere has gone up over 140% since before the Industrial Era, and Nitrous Oxide is up 18%. I think we also have to consider that we have mixed and matched so many different solids, liquids, and gasses that many things that are emitted into our atmosphere has never been seen or dealt with before on Earth. So needless to say we are contributing to a lot of the Global Warning that is going on. If the climate change continues, the effects would be deadly. Many living things have evolved and survived through extreme climate changes and we may be lucky, however if evolution determines that its time for this problematic species to not exist anymore...it will happen.

Global Warming may be, in my opinion may be the number one reason of how life on Earth could cease as we know it, but volcanism is a close runner up.

There are so many ways that we can think of that would end life on earth. Global warming is bad for people who live in low-lying coastal areas and at the edges of deserts, but the truth is that Earth has been much warmer throughout most of the past 500 million years, and life did just fine. On the other side of things, a new ice age would end most human habitation of Canada, northern Europe, the northern U.S. and Russia, but the tropics would stay about the same and there'd be a lot more land to go around in south Florida as sea levels dropped. So, these are not a concern but massive asteroid impact can be one. Asteroids and comets crash into our planet all the time, with varying degrees of damage. The last big one was 100 years ago in Siberia, but in such a remote area that no one died. Massive volcanic eruptions is something we see that has occurred recently now. The Yellowstone super volcano at the Yellowstone National Park sits atop a massive magma chamber will probably take out most of the people living between the Rockies and the Appalachians next time it erupts, which could literally be tomorrow. Nuclear war is another concern on earth. Few people have uttered the phrase "nuclear winter" since the end of the Cold War, but it was a very real fear during the 1980s.The notion was that a full-scale nuclear war between the Soviet Union and United States would kick huge amounts of dust, smoke and soot up into the atmosphere and blot out sunlight for months or even years, causing mass extinctions as most plants died and most animals starved. Life has squeaked by in such instances in the past, but the deadly post-nuclear radioactive particles carried around the world could land a deadly second blow on the surviving organisms. The expanding sun when the sun becomes a great red giant as they would call it. In the movie “Knowing” the sun’s temperature increased so highly that it burned out the whole entire planet. Most people believe that since in the bible it indicates that the world would end in 2012 the reason could be a human effect or natural disaster they even made a movie on it. Some people believe that we will all die due to our own technology that we will create something that will either directly or indirectly be our end. How Do I Think The Human Race Will End On Earth?

There are so many factors today that contribute to how humans will survive on earth. One is global warming; the seasons continue to become more severe. The summers have become hotter and hotter as well as the winters have become much harsh with the cold. The glaciers are melting in the North Pole. With all of this going on, it will affect the human race at some point. Another factor we have is science is becoming so advanced that we can now clone ourselves or alter the way we are. We can pick out our children’s eye color or height. We can also alter our DNA to leave out genetic defects or terminal diseases. I personally believe in God and that he created us. I believe that he made the earth for us and we are not taking care of it as we should. I also believe in evolution. If we are able to and do begin to alter the human race scientifically, aren’t we changing the way evolution should naturally be carried out? Doesn’t that mean that we are playing God? I think that there are some ethical questions there to be answered. As I wrote in some of my class work; being able to stop diseases like Huntington’s which runs in my family would be great but what is that changes the way things are suppose to be? Also, how do we decide which diseases or ailments are severe enough to be taken out of the human DNA? I bet we would end up like some of the sci-fi movies we watch. We would probably kill ourselves off. It is so hard to look into the future. I now have a child and don’t want to think that one day, he or his children or grandchildren will no longer be around because the human race is extinct. This is such a hard topic for me because I don’t want to think about the human race ending. I do believe that everything and everyone was put here on earth for a purpose. I wonder if our purpose was to be able to alter our genes and then create another species scientifically. If this is correct, I hope we don’t end up like that movie with Sylvester Stalone and Sandra Bullock where she is a robot cop and he is one of the last actual humans. That movie was crazy and so boring. Life would become mundane and boring.

The end of the World

The end of the world is an interesting topic. I think it should be the end of life as we know it because the world itself might still be here. The Earth could still be spinning on its axis. It is hard to imagine a world without human beings but The Bible and Darwin’s theory of Evolution both indicate that there were no humans in the beginning.

So how will life as we know it end? I can speculate on many theories. There could be a flu virus that wipes out all human life. There could be a meteor strike that knocks us out of our existing orbit and whoever survives the meteor could either freeze or burn depending on if we get nudged toward the sun or away from it. We could die from nuclear fallout after certain countries get mad enough at each other to push the button on their nuclear bombs. Another idea is that aliens from another world come to Earth and bring unknown diseases that our bodies cannot resist. The ozone layer could fail and we could all roast to death if we do not change our industrial ways. Any of these scenarios might actually happen though the alien idea might be a bit farfetched.

Let’s discuss the first scenario pertaining to a flu virus. As we are all aware influenza viruses adapt and change each year. Our bodies adapt also and fight these new flu viruses but some people cannot adapt and deaths occur. There are many new viruses trying to jump from animals to people. These are the scary ones. A Stephen King book titled, “The Stand” is a very interesting book about this subject and it is also one of my favorite books.

The next topic is a meteor strike. Almost all of us have probably seen a disaster movie that chronicles a meteor strike. I think the huge tidal wave that would ensue would be the most devastating repercussion to the strike. This event alone could take the most human lives and then there would be storms and hurricanes. Also the dust cloud that would choke whoever was left with oxygen deprivation.

As for nuclear war this seems to be the most terrifying to me because it would be something we would do to ourselves. The other events described are an act of nature while nuclear war is the deliberate act from a bunch of idiots getting irritated enough that they hit a button that would make all our future decisions a moot point. The failing of our ozone layer is another way we could deliberately end life on earth. Everyone seems to ignore what we are doing to our planet. When the ozone layer gets close to depletion everyone will be horrified and wonder why we didn’t do anything before.

As for the final concept of an alien invasion it doesn’t have to be terrifying, horrible aliens coming to possess our world. What if they are kindly, highly intelligent and peaceful beings that came to help us repair our ozone layer and mediate our petty squabbles so we do not resort to nuclear weapons? They could teach us how to divert that meteor and they could supply us with the steps to eradicate those pesky flu viruses. Just think if they came bearing all these wonderful gifts for us to utilize and some cute pet they bring with them has a parasite like fleas that would cause a bubonic plague that wipes us out 100%. The irony would be hilarious.

Global Warming and End of the World

My prediction on the end of human life on Earth is simple: I support the Global Warming theory. It makes so much sense, if you think about it. We use so many plastic products in our every day life, and plastic will never decompose, it will always remain in a landfill; buried beneath our Earth’s surface in layers upon layers. We all know that there have been medical studies done that show if people, women especially, drink water from a plastic water bottle exposed to extreme heat, it has the potential to cause cancer because of all of the toxins released from the plastic when exposed to extreme heat.(Science Daily) So, if being exposed to cancer is as easy as leaving a plastic water bottle in your car then drinking out of it, why wouldn’t it have the ability to irritate our Earth being buried beneath the Earth’s soil?

I think the Earth is trying to give us a warning with all of these Earthquakes. They keep getting higher and higher on the richter scale. I think we need to pay more attention to what we are putting in our Earth’s atmospher and burying into our earth’s soil, as well as our bodies. Another factor I think that is going to contribute to the end of human life on earth is all of the preservatives and hormones in our food that cause so many life threatening conditions and allergens. You can see some life threatening conditions that affect a lot of today’s children on Discovery Health and you read about it in the news. I remember not too long ago they found that certain hormones found in milk can be harmful for young girls. (Early Puberty). Hormonal imbalances can cause life threatening conditions and effect the pituitary gland, or the “master gland” that helps regulate these hormones. Did you know that diet drinks aren’t as “good for you” as most physicians say they are? Science shows that the common artificial sweetener in most diet drinks, Aspartame, when mixed with Phenylalanine, an essential amino acid our body needs, can become a cocktail of neurotoxin? Pretty scary isn’t it? Why do humans make these concoctions when it is quite proven not to be good for our bodies? To me, this sounds like humans are digging humanity’s grave one diet soda at a time.

A lot of factors contribute to Global Warming, and because of Global Warming, I believe human lives are paying the toll for it. I think that the Mayans knew it so many years ago, because their calendar ends on December 21, 2012. They knew ultimately man would be their own destructor, and because of this, it would blow up our planet by destroying our species as well as animal species as well.

Is the World going to End soon ?

It’s the world really going to end soon? Well that is of course hard to know, many people have a different opinion on this topic, I particularly think that it may be soon but not 2012. I saw this documental 3 years ago about how the world will end in 2012, they said that around December of that year, all the planets will align and the earth will loose its orbit and major disasters are going to take place, like hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanoes will erupt, earthquakes everywhere, and it will be freezing where its usually hot, and the opposite. Many scientists have proof that something big is going to happen, because all that is getting messed up in our planet. Mayans, Zulus, Incas, Hopi Indians, and many other ancient civilizations have predicted the end for the same year, 2012. I kind of believe in this predictions because most of the things that have been predicted in the past have occurred very accurately with what they said.
My opinion on the way things are being done today, is that people are not taking care of what nature gave us, technology is destroying many of the pretty natural things that we once had, we no longer care about the environment and only think about what’s new in technology and what else can we make to make things easier, now this is not fair to all we had 50 and more years ago.
I think that if the world ends will be natural disasters because of the global warming, polar ice caps melt not because the air there is warmer than 0 degrees C, but because they are overheated from underneath. Volcanoes become active and erupt violently not because the Earth''s interior "crystallizes", but because the planetary nucleus is a nuclear fission reactor that needs cooling. We can all help but people are too busy to actually think about all the dangers that we humans are causing to our planet which is our home, and the day its destroyed we will all suffer, or even all die.
I do believe what I heard on tv that it will end caused by the planets alignment and everything will turn upside down, it would be, (according to what they said) the third time this happens, of course that each time has taken trillions of years.
Many people say they don’t believe it will end so soon, it is soon for us because we are living here today, but the change to earth has been happening for millions and millions of years and we eill be the unlucky ones to suffer from the disasters.

Bible and the End of the World

In my research, I’ve found ten ideas are most common among the end of time theories. Global warming, gamma-ray bursts, supervolcano, warfare, artificial intelligence, antibiotic resistance, famine, overpopulation, Earth’s self-combustion, and water crisis —among these theories, warfare seems the most logical considering the current times and the Biblical prophecy.
War destroys habitats and the destruction of land effects ecosystems of surrounding life, both that of animals and plants in addition to human existence. Water is also a necessity to life and the supply will become limited during these times. Food will be scarce. Life’s basic needs will be difficult to meet, which in return can put an end to humanity and all life forms on earth.
The Bible talks about a lot of war in the end of times. In Revelation, John speaks about the many wars of the tribulation period, Armageddon probably the most notable. The Battle of Armageddon is the climatic war to end all nations. It is said to be horrific, where blood will flow for nearly two hundred miles (Revelations 14: 20) —the distance from northern tip to southern tip of the land of Israel (Lookisrael.com) . Logically speaking, during this time, all living creatures and plants will parish, not just the humans involved in the physical war.
Revelation continues, informing us that once God has had enough, his judgment will pour down like fire against the wicked who will in return deny He is Lord (Revelations 16:9). Fire and brimstone is mentioned frequently in reference to God’s wrath on the unfaithful. Fire is a well-known destroyer that will consume everything in its path and leave nothing alive in its wake. Taking into consideration the extensive damage that wildfires and forest fires do to the ecosystems, no life form will have a chance of survival.
I think war and fire will go hand in hand when the end of time comes. Biologically speaking, both are destructive and together, they will put a cease to existence.

Viruses and the End of the World

I think the world as we know it will end with the increasingly hard to kill viruses. There are so many new viruses and they mutate or morph to become immune to the anti viral that scientist develops and then the anti viral is no longer effective. DNA and RNA are the genetic material that makes up viruses. Viruses can enter the human body through the mouth, eyes, ears, open cuts and other mucous membranes. Aids and HIV are an example of a deadly virus that scientists have not been able to develop a cure for. “AIDS was first identified in the USA in 1981. The epidemic has now spread to every part of the USA and to all sectors of society. It is thought that more than one million people are living with HIV in the USA and that more than half a million have died after developing.” AIDS. http://www.avert.org/usa-statistics.htm . Many people think Aids and HIV is the virus that could end the world. However, I think it’s going to be one of the new viruses they call “super virus” or “drug- resistant strains of viruses”. Viruses can mutate or morph themselves and every time they mutate they require a new or different drug to kill or reduce it. Another problem is that people feel when they go to the doctor they need to “get something for their money” so the doctor prescribes an antibiotic even if it might not help, the patient wants to feel satisfied. Every time a person takes an antibiotic that is or is not necessary they build up immunity against the medicine the chances are they will need a stronger antibiotic the next time. Well, eventually they take the strongest antibiotic and then there is nothing the doctor can do for them when they really are sick and do need the antibiotics. One reason viruses spread so rapidly is because people do not use universal precautions all the time especially in hospitals or other medical facilities even though medical personnel are trained to do so they do not always follow procedure. You should also take universal precautions to prevent exposure too virus by using a face shield and gloves when dealing with blood or bodily fluids. The best way to ward off a virus is to wash your hands for the amount of time it takes you to sing the alphabet with aggressive rubbing using anti bacterial hand wash with hot water. (WC 417)

How Will the World End?

The end of the world is not something that I think about on regular basis, but it is something that may cross my mind on occasion. It kind of sends a shiver of my back to think about our world as we know it ending and not existing anymore. But me being a very realistic person don’t believe in the big comet crushing Earth, or the world colliding with the sun, or even what the Mayans are predicting in 2012. I do on the other hand believe in the potential for there to be a hole in the ozone layer, the icecaps melting, and, me being of Christian faith, God ending the world.
I mean think about it, how much pollution and stuff do us humans put in the air everyday. And with all the nuclear smoke and chemicals that go up in our ozone why couldn’t there be a possibility that one day the ozone will wear away. Although the ozone is tough, tough enough to protect us from the sun’s rays, it can only take so much. So a possible hole in the ozone layer would be one of my predictions of our world ending.
The second one I have considered it the polar icecaps melting due to global warming. If you think about it where would all this water go if the icecaps were to melt. I mean yes the oceans and seas of Earth are huge but they can only hold so much and are full already. What if the ice in the arctic seas of our world melt? Where would all that excess water go? Only so much of it could fit in the oceans before it begins to flood the Earth. And this is only the water from the ice, what about rain? That has to go somewhere as well. So the melting of the icecaps and the flooding of the Earth is also one of my end of the world predictions.
The final one that I believe could happen is God bringing the world to an end. In the book of Revelations, which is the last book of the bible, Jesus tells of all the things that will happen before the end of the world. And if you read it carefully you can see that some of the things in this book of the Bible have happened or are predicted.
Nobody really knows when the end of the world will come or what will cause this to happen. But one thing is for sure, when that day is upon us there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Potential Disaster in 2012?

During this current year of 2012 I have heard many theories for the big “apocalypse” of 2012. Even though all of the hype about the world flooding and volcanoes burning everything up was very interesting, I found the “Dark Comet Theory” the most interesting.
A researcher from Melbourne, Australia named Robert Bast has come up with a possible catastrophe for 2012. He has been following a comet by the name of Caesar. So the theory is based on the sighting of Comet Caesar, or the dark comet, by the Mayans in 44BC. They recorded this sighting in the Mayan Long Count Calendar which is believed to end in 2012. Just so happens the return of Comet Caesar falls right in with the Mayan’s predicted apocalypse in 2012. This estimated orbital period differs from the 44BC sighting by only 6 years, or 3 years per thousand year orbit. Given that the periodicy of Halley''s comet can vary by 2 years within a 76 year orbit, due to the gravitational influences of the planets, the connection could be precise”. “With Bast''s hypothesis of 5 orbits averaging 1025 years, the 44BC passage fits in well with the 2012 end date, and just as importantly the 3114BC start date, of the Mayan Long Count calendar. This estimated orbital period differs from the 44BC sighting by only 6 years, or 3 years per thousand year orbit.” Researcher Bast also believes that if any disaster that is predicted to happen in our era predicted by ancient civilizations actually occurred it would probably be a comet.
Hopefully if we Earthlings see Comet Caesar again it won’t be colliding with Earth. If it can be proven one hundred percent we will be able to prepare before it blasts into the Earth. But on a more positive note the comet may be harmless if it has lost its ice during its orbit around the Sun.
There are not any scientific evidence of the comet crashing into Earth. The only thing Researcher Bast is going on is the predictions of the Mayan calendar.
I honestly don’t think there is anything to any of these theories because different people also said that the world was going to end in the year 2000 and nothing happened! I mean listening to the stories is very entertaining but I don’t feed into the hype. I am not going to be one of the people who go into complete chaos. I am just going to live my life and wish for the best!

There are a couple of theories stating that the Mayans predicted that the world was coming to an end on December 21, 2012. According to this theory, a planet, Nibiru, force will cause the earth to collide with the earth. The assumption is that there will be a magnetic shift between the North and South Pole and for this reason; there will be massive destruction that will end of our lives. According to the theorists, the earth will be destroyed by earthquakes, tsunamis and nuclear meltdown. Some of these concepts began from a priest named Charles Etienne Brasseur de Bourboug. This Frenchman got his theories from studying the Mayan and Aztec, but he was discredited. Zecharia Sitchin, writer and Nancy Lieder, psychic started the rumor that the catastrophic event would be happening May of 2003 and later changed to December of 2012, when nothing happened in May 2003.
Mayan Indian elder, Apolinario Chile Pixtun of Guatemala, does not agree that the world is coming to an end. Per Ann Martin, “the Mayan calendar has no consequence; ‘it is the end of a great calendar cycle in Mayan society,’ like our modern society celebrated the millennium.” (Martin, 2009) This day is just a very important time in Mayan history. What’s happening is theorists are taking a chain of events and using it to interpret what they believe is going to happen. These astronomers, the Mayans, tracked time by a calendar. The Baktuns, which is a 394 year period, is a very sacred time for the Mayans.
NASA has never been exposed to Nibiru. David Morrison, NASA Senior Scientist, “Nibiru is simply fake, a hoax.” There is no scientific evidence found that Nibiru even exist. This planet has not been seen nor does it exist. If this planet truly existed, why haven’t anyone seen it yet? Why would the astronomers not tell everyone they would be killed? People can make up whatever they want especially if money is involved. Unfortunately, sometimes as humans we believe everything. Many scientists believe the people that are responsible for making these theories are in it for the money by scaring people. If no one can tell you what’s going to happen today, how can they tell you about four years ahead? Especially if these theorists claimed that the end of the world would be in 2003, believing them will be very difficult. Using a calendar cannot foresee the future much less foresee an exact date.

How will the world come to an end? Well there are so many theories’ out there. Personally this is not something I pondered. So I find this a very difficult topic to write on. There is a possibility as you had stated in one of the chats that we could be hit by a massive meteor. There are those whom follow a religious teaching of the Revelations. There are also the many various beliefs that the world will come to an end in 2012. I guess I must admit that this is something I really do not wish to focus on. Well what I can share is what I see in the world at this time. We have become consumers to the ultimate. Natural resources are used in mass quantities and in some areas it depleting the resources that are in the soils. The way I see it is people inhabit the earth just like a virus inhabits our bodies. First it travels through the system leaving a trail every where it has been. Then it mass produces in the body spreading all through the system. As it spreads through the system the various parts of the body often become achy and in many cases they stop functioning properly or at full capacity. This same story can be transferred over to humans inhabiting the earth. Natural lands are being dug up and forests are becoming smaller and smaller. There was even a discussion of taking over a natural habitat in Northern America where wildlife preserves are. What was the reason behind this? This was all to drill for oil a resource that is in constant use, more so in the United States of America then any other country! Ok so now that that is said I guess that my idea is that humans will eventually use up all of the resources available. Then when it is all gone, and unable to regenerate fast enough to keep things going it will become a long slow painful end to humanity. I guess it will become even more so like a lab rat experiment, when to many rats are put in a cage. People will be pressured there will be fights, starvation and anger beyond what we have now. Oh but wait in some ways we are already getting there Hmmm. Again there is the possibility of a mass sized meteor hitting earth and things ending even sooner. Even with all of this being said, I have know clue how it is going to happen and would much rather not even contemplate the whole thing.

The way I think life on earth will eventually come to an end? Honestly I believe a lot of different things. There are several ways it can all come to an end. One by there being a big sickness that wipes out the whole human race. What has me thinking this the h1n1 flu. How did this flu come out of no where and start killing people? Don’t you find it odd? Then not even a year later the government comes out with a new vaccine to cure or prevent you from getting this flu. This vaccine came out so fast, what did they use to create this vaccine? I do not think anyone actually knows what is in this vaccine, and it hasn’t even been out long enough to know if it has any affects to the body after so long. What if in 5 years this vaccine turns everyone into something or you get this weird symptom. Well there has been a recall on this vaccine and people are dieing from it. Soon enough what do we know this vaccine has wiped of million of people of this earth? Could it happen? What I find interesting that can relate to this situation is the movie “I am legend”, in the movie someone came out with a cure for cancer so every one took the shot, it was really big they couldn’t believe that it was possible. Three years later this so called cure for cancer had turned every human in the world into this crazy zombie that wiped out human race. What I have found crazy to think Is that in I am legend everything went crazy 3 yrs later right now everyone is going crazy thinking they need this vaccine 3 years from now will be 2012 where in the Aztec calendar says the world is going to end. Crazy thought? Another way that I have thought the life on earth can come to an end is global warming. All this pollution that the humans on this earth is creating is ruining this earth all the glaziers in the ant artic are melting you do not think the earth will flood? Or even war! How many countries have nuclear weapons and bombs. What if one of these countries decide to actually explode one of them I am sure that will be the end of this earth. I find this subject kind of scary because there are so many things that can happen and it freaks me out because I am to young to go through any one of those things.

The end of the world has concerned people since the dawn of our existence as people. If we as people can live and then die then the planet might work the same way. Basic logic is what makes people think the world will end. Life is the ultimate example that everything must come to an end. In our modern society the discussions for the end of the world surround the year of 2012. The Mayans made a calendar that predicted the world to end due to a major natural disaster in the year of 2012. This is a theory that is essentially caused by man made devastation of the natural earth. Things such as gases released into the air and littering are supposed to be the ultimate cause of this life ending disaster. I think that the Mayans are overrated in their calendar and their predictions. If the Mayans could make such predictions then they would not all be dead because they would have for seen their demise from foreign explorers and tyrants. Also, if they knew all this information why do they not tell what actual disaster causes the end of the earth. There are too many holes in this theory to get me to buy in. Another thing is that accepting such a timeline would mean that every person that I love and I will all die. I can not accept this as a fact for that reason. This would also mean that my life and the work that I am doing right now are essentially pointless. I can not accept that fact either. I do however think that world will one day come to an end. I believe it will not happen for thousands and maybe even millions of years. The earth is such a young and vibrant planet compared to what is in the universe that it should survive for this many years. The earth is like a person to me it gets sick from time to time and we feel the effects in things like tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes. The earth also requires nutrients like people and plants. In the earth’s case the sun provides the necessary light to provide an entire planet’s life source. The sun however, is the main weakness of earth. I think that eventually, just like other stars, the sun will burn out and no longer produce this light. Once, the sun is dead it will be a matter of some years before it even starts to take effect on the planet. The earth will die eventually without the sun and all of the life on will be gone as well. This is how the end of all life will come to be.

Washington- A study funded by NASA, describes how extreme solar flares could have serious implications for communications, power grids and other technologies on Earth. In a recent report prepared for NASA and ESA for the National Academy of Sciences the report warns of a solar storm 2012. The National Academy of Sciences in Washington conducted the study. The resulting report provides some early economic data is now clear that effectively quantify the risk of extreme conditions in space-driven magnetic activity on the sun and disturbances in the near-Earth environment. Extreme cases of space weather are rare and are classified with other natural hazards that have low frequency but high impact. To mitigate the potential public safety problems, it is vital to better understand space weather extremes caused by solar activity. Besides emitting a continuous stream of plasma called the solar wind, the sun periodically releases billions of tones of matter called coronal mass ejections. These immense clouds of material, when directed toward Earth, can cause large magnetic storms in the magnetosphere and upper atmosphere. Such space weather can affect the performance and reliability of space and ground technological systems. Space-time solar storm can produce electromagnetic fields that induce currents in extreme cables, disrupting power lines, causing widespread blackouts and that affect communication cables that support the Internet. The impact of the storm could topple the interconnected structures, with devastating effects: the distribution of drinking water will be quite impossible in a few hours, food will lose the cameras are in the area between 12 and 24 hours, transportation will be affected. Severe space weather also produces solar energetic particles and the dislocation of the radiation belts of Earth, which can damage satellites used for commercial communications, global positioning and weather forecasting. A catastrophic failure of the commercial and government infrastructure in space and on the ground can be mitigated through public awareness, improving vulnerable infrastructure and development of advanced prediction capabilities. Without preventive measures or plans, the trend of increased reliance on space-time might make sensitive modern society most vulnerable in the future. The year 2012, people are talking about it. Some dread it because they think it’s the beginning of the end. Others can’t wait because they think it’s going to transform them into a whole new way of being in a whole new world. Then there are people like me wondering if anything at all will even happen. It definitely has been a hot topic lately and for good reason. There are some things that are happening already that are giving us signs that things are changing on our planet. I have researched many of these but will reduce it down to the three reasons I felt were worth discussing for enlightenment reasons.
Let’s begin with the honey bees. Honey bees visit flowers multiple times to ensure complete pollination. If the pollen is viable, and the receiving flower is healthy, fertilization takes place and maximum fruit, vegetable, nut, or seed set is the result. A grower can have the best location, the best soil, the best fertilization, the best pest control, the best fungus control, the best irrigation and the very best cultivars, but if there are no honey bees, to take pollen from point A to point B, there will be no saleable, marketable crop. Honey bees are a vital part of production and nothing can take their place. But the bees are disappearing. According to the Natural Resources Defense Counsel the honey bees are mysteriously fading out. It could be because of wireless technology frequencies or maybe the bees are sensing something peculiar that’s approaching and are preparing themselves for it. The Defense Counsel really doesn’t know (www.nrdc.org). You might not think this is a big deal but the United States Congress does. They believe it’s important enough that they have put a name on the disappearance of the bees. They are calling it Colony Collapse Disorder. They believe it’s a threat to the human race because honey bees are needed for pollination to take place and without pollination the human race is in grave danger (www.senate.gov). They thought the threat significant enough that in 2007 they granted the United States Department of Agriculture permission to release their emergency funds to study the honey bee disappearance (www.senate.gov). During my research I came across a quote from Albert Einstein. Einstein said, “If the bees disappeared off the surface of the globe, man would only have four years of life left” (www www.snopes.com). That Einstein actually said that is very debatable.
Let’s move to the next topic. There is an astrological event that is going to occur in the year 2012. Towards the end of that year our solar system will be passing across the dead center of the plane of our galaxy and on its way through a cosmic dust cloud in the Milky Way known as the Great Dark Rift. Exactly on December 21 of that year our sun will be in the center of that rift. Also on that day there will be a galactic alignment of all the planets. These two astrological events only fall on the same day every 26,000 years. To add to that, it’s expected that the sun will go through another polar shift (this is normal for our sun). According to NASA the polar shift our sun goes through happens about every eleven years or so. NASA also predicts that when all of these things happen it could cause various types weather anomalies to happen on earth. They predict we could have more powerful storms than just our usual tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, typhoons, and things like that. We would have these storms but on a much larger scale (www.nasa.gov). NASA is already noticing strange stuff occurring at the center of our galaxy as we speak.
The last thing I did my research on was the possibility of an asteroid hitting our planet. NASA scientists took radar images of an asteroid they named, Asteroid 2007 TU24, it passed within 334,000 miles of Earth in 2008. This is about one and one half times the distance between the Earth and the Moon. The asteroid is roughly 800 feet in diameter, which is big enough for it to have caused a global environmental catastrophe, had it collided with our planet (www.independent.co.uk). In the 1980s and early 90s there was strong scientific evidence discovered and discussed in the scientific community, that an asteroid had hit the Yucatan area of Mexico 65 million years ago, causing the extinction of the dinosaurs. This mass extinction occurred very quickly because the temperature of the atmosphere was raised hundreds of degrees by the energy of the blast, so the dinosaurs were roasted. Any animal life above ground was roasted within a day. Those living underground or in the oceans had to later contend with rocks raining from the sky, acid rain as acidic as battery acid. Then over the next years the sunlight was cut off by the dust in the atmosphere, and the earth went into an ice age, so those plants and animals that survived the fiery holocaust then froze to death in an ice age. This would be the scenario again if an asteroid of that size hit our planet.
What happens in the next few years may or may not happen, I don’t know. The only thing I believe is that if something catastrophic were to happen to our planet it could bring everyone together as human beings as we help each other, or it could bring humanity to the brink of destruction.

Many years ago the Maya Indians of Mesoamerica devised a highly accurate calendar system. In this calendar 2012 predictions were made relating to the end of the current bakun, or cycle, and an Armageddon like event was anticipated. With the modern age upon us it is difficult to take all the predictions of Maya culture verbatim. In new age philosophy it is generally seen as a period of spiritual renewal. Galactic changes with our improved understanding of the stars and their movement, we can anticipate changes that are due. There are many sources that like to suggest that in the year 2012 the world will end. Causes suggested range from geomagnetic reversal to a massive solar flare. While there are no scientific indications that such things will happen in the next few years, it is impossible to rule out anything completely. From Nostradamus to Merlin and on to modern doomsayers, people have drawn attention to the potential for an earth ending event in this millennium (Chandler 2009.)
Global warming and greenhouse gases have been front page news in relations to climate changes. NASA has been observing these atmospheric changes since 1976 and has concluded that a tiny airborne particle called aerosol is a major cause. The climate can be influenced by reflecting or absorbing the suns radiation with aerosol being emitted naturally or manmade. Ocean atmosphere models have been used by NASA scientists to show the sensitivity of different regional climate changes in carbon dioxide, ozone and aerosols. The scientists have concluded that the mid and higher altitudes are responsive to changes in levels of aerosol. They also determined that aerosol was responsible for the warming over the Arctic in the last three decades by 45 percent (Hardin, Kahn 2008.)
There are numerous types of aerosol, but there are mainly 2 types that play a big role which are sulfates and black carbon. Sulfate comes from the burning of coal and oil. They scatter incoming solar radiation with a net cooling effect on climate. United States and European countries passed a law three decades ago to reduce the emission of sulfate by fifty percent. The results of these regulations have made a significant effect on air quality, public health and with less atmospheric cooling by sulfates. However; black carbons have continued on a steady rise from Asia with their booming economy. Black carbon is a soot-like particle produced by industrial processes and the combustion of diesel and biofuels.
The model showed information on the role of different components of the climate system, like solar variations, volcanic events and changes in greenhouse gasses. The model was also subjected to various scenarios on how temperature would change as the levels of ozone and aerosols varied in different regions of the planet. The region that indicated the strongest response to aerosol was those with real world drastic changes in climates since 1976. The Arctic region’s surface air has increased by 1.5 degree Celsius. In the Antarctic, the aerosol’s role increased the surface air by .35 degrees Celsius (Hardin, Kahn 2008.)
The two highly industrialized regions of the planet have produced the most aerosol emissions are the US or North America and Europe. Now Asia is taking the lead with its race in the industrial race. Some of the emissions drifted north over the Arctic. The minimal precipitation in the Arctic surface makes is hard to flush the aerosol out.
The buildup of aerosol also triggers a positive feedback cycle that accelerates warming as the snow and ice caps retreat. In the Arctic and Northern Hemisphere, aerosol damage is just as strong as greenhouse gases. To slow down or even to stop the Arctic summer sea ice melting over the next few decades, the more feasible approach is a better control measure of aerosol and ozone emission (Hardin, Kahn 2008.)
Aerosols also play an essential role in how clouds develop. When there is an increase in concentration of aerosol in clouds, the water in the cloud spreads over more particles. This makes the raindrops smaller when falling and may not reach the ground, which decreases the chances of rain. In this way, changing aerosols in the atmosphere can change the frequency of cloud occurrence, thickness and rainfall amounts. The 2 primary consequences of too much aerosol is that clouds with small drops reflect more solar light and when the drops are small they take longer to form the right amount to drop. Either scenario increases the amount of sunlight that is reflected back into space without reaching the surface of the earth.
Which predictions, if any, are correct will only be discovered at the time. Numerology and 2012 Numerologist describe the year 2012 as a 5 year. Five is a number associated with change, often of a significant intensity. Bad leadership and major traffic disasters are suggested as possibilities during this year. We are told to expect a lot of turmoil and agitation worldwide. No matter what 2012 predictions are being made one thing is certain, the only way to definitively know exactly what will happen is to live through it (Chandler 2009.)

Global Warning:The Planet earth is warming faster than at any time in the past one thousand years and there is much that human activity has done to cause this destruction. There are many things we could do to stop the effects of global warming. One is to start recycling this would help clean up the earth and people could stop smoking and they could not use their cars as much. Instead of fuel we could use solar power or any renewable source. Using scrap not only stops the increase in waste but also reduces the amount of energy required by a factor of 2.5 per ton of scrap melted compared with making iron from ore. Not only scrap is recycled: dust and mill scale that arise during the production and processing of steel are also reused. Twenty years ago, many thousands of tons of iron oxide dust were emitted from each steel plan. The output of carbon dioxide, however, remains one of the industry's biggest environmental problems to overcome, since steel is essentially a fossil fuel-based industry. The reduction in carbon dioxide emission is a result of reduced energy consumption. The effects of global warming are extreme climate change which is concern for both the environment and human life. Evidence of experienced climate change includes the instrumental temperature record, rising sea levels, and decreased snow cover in the Northern hemisphere. Most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in human greenhouse gases. As the climate gets warmer and the causes of global dimming are reduced, evaporation will increase due to warmer oceans. Scientists have found evidence that increased evaporation could result in more extreme weather as global warming progresses. This is my opinion on how we will meet our demise. There is one thing I do know, if we are still around 5 billion years from now our sun will kill us, but I will try to stay in this lifetime. So far humans have been through plagues, wars, natural disasters, and much more. We’re still here! We have been talking about genetics a lot in this class. What if, a couple of decades from now, some deadly virus were mistakenly created because of cloning? Could it actually happen? I think it’s a far fetched suggestion, but you never know. What if during all of the genetic enhancements that were being done the virus learned to become resistant to the drugs that were designed to kill it and every time we came up with a new drug to combat the virus, it become even deadlier. This discussion is starting to sound more like an “I Am Legend” movie…lol. Deadly viruses seem, to me, to be feared by humans more that nuclear war. I think it’s because of the unknown. Medical crisis scare the hell out of people. People react to fear differently. Some want to get out of the way, some want to face it head on. Psychologists use the flight or fight idea but with a deadly virus world wide you can’t get away from it and you can’t confront it. People start to freak out.

The virus begins as an ordinary bout of the flu, but after a week the symptoms start to get worse. The flu like symptoms is the only thing this virus has in common with anyone. After those symptoms start getting a little worse then the virus’s true warning sign surfaces. The virus acts upon the kind of character you have. For example, if you’re a thief, your hands will first be affected. If you’re an adulterer, the virus first starts to attack your genital area. If you’re a liar, then of course your tongue will be targeted. There are many, many different areas the virus will wreak havoc on. When the virus starts to attack your body it’s very, very painful. No pain killer known to man can stop the brutal throbbing and ache. The pain you feel is nothing compared to what the virus has in store for you in your near future. The sad thing about it is that the virus isn’t exactly what kills you in the end. What kills you is the insanity you endure from the symptoms. Your brain just can’t handle the torment and agony. Can you imagine seeing someone go through this and know that you could be next? There won’t be many people left in the end. There could deaths before the virus even reaches people because some might just go ahead and kill their family and themselves so they don’t have to go through the pain.

The only one who knows the future for certain is the Creator of this universe, and when He wants us to know something, He will reveal it. I just hope when he does it’s nothing like what I’ve described.

After reading and doing research on this topic, I must admit that I am just speechless. I can’t believe that I have not heard of this prior to this class. Obviously, you always hear that the world is coming to an end, but we have heard that for years. This time around I have read some interesting information, such as, I had no clue of the magnetic field turned upside down on the sun, I had never heard of “Planet X”, and much less about the poles shifting…
According to a NASA press release from 1992, there is some strange activity in the planets of Neptune and Uranus that equal to size of masses of four to eight times larger than earth. In addition to these irregularities in 2005, it was reported that the North Pole which had been in Canada since the 1600’s was now in Siberia. The poles shift with such speed that it has been compared with the Tsunami, which caused such devastation as such speed. This event manages to alter the shape of the earth, slightly affected the axis of rotation as well as affects the molten that powers the magnetic fields. Scientist have said ton July 31, 2008, there have been changes in the Sun’s activity, the Sun appears to have a spot, which is normal, but this one is magnetically backwards. As of that appearance the Sun has now been more magnetically active than in the past one thousand years. Since then our top scientists have become alarmed, due to massive and constant changes in our solar system as reported by NASA in their report titled: “New solar storm shakes space weather theory”, which states: that in January of 2005, sunspot 720 had produced some solar flares that were different, this was a stormy month in space.
In January 30 of 1983, the “New York Times”, had released an article by the title of “Clues Get Warm in the Search for Planet X”, which discussed that there were activities in the planets of Uranus and Neptune that suggested the presence of a possible planet number 10, that could be within a distance of five billion miles of Pluto.
Some scientists believe that this so called “Planet X”, will pass through our solar system by the year 2012 and that if this is true this can cause a major catastrophe in our planet Earth, which could be devastating to the entire population, due to the fact that many things are taking place at the same time, such as the sunspot backwards, causing the sun to be magnetically more active, the pole shifts and the pass through of this so called “Planet X”, we can only start preparing for what can happen. If this were to be happening, we must prepare ourselves for three to four years of food, first aid kits, water, clothing, shelter and so on. High latitude places are the most recommended areas to live in.
Some say that the Government has knowledge of what is to come and for that reason allowed the disaster of 9/11, but why? Well, with 9/11 was created the “John Warner Defense Authorization Act and Martial Law Presidential Decision Directive 51”, which authorizes the President to have total and complete control at all levels without the involvement of the Congress, this leads me to believe that the Government has complete knowledge of what is to come, is preparing already and have formed their groups for when time comes.
I must conclude with adding that this has also been predicted in the Bible, the oldest book in the world, named by Elijah, “The Destroyer” In (Jeremiah 25:32 and 48:8), states: “Disasters will soon spread from nation to nation. They will come like a powerful storm to all the faraway places on earth…The Destroyer will come against every town…not one town will escape.”

Well, some people claimed this earth will come to an end in the near future but we can't be sure until that time comes. But personally, I'd say no, it's very unlikely for that to happen I think. The Mayan Calendar indicated it, and NASA itself claimed there will be a lot of sun activities that might happen in the near future. Although NASA did say a certain year when these numerous space activities would occur, they never claimed there will be such huge activities that may cause the end of this planet.
I believe that the end of the world will happen in a few millions years from now, maybe longer. I believe that what we are going through in the environment is of natural occurrences. Mother Nature has anticipated all the abnormalities and is going through a process of trying to counter these changes. Every possible claim has been discounted by one group and vise verse for the other claims. The claim of global warming isn’t that well supported. There is an adjustment by plants and animals in helping creating more oxygen to sustain life. People being more conscious of how to conserve and not abuse our natural resources can and will help in this matter, but I believe that mother nature already has a plan in place for that. Planets are born daily and evolve just as our earth has done millions years ago. And planets die as the last progression in everything in the universe. Our planet will die when its core becomes static as if your heart had stopped pumping. Then earth dies. But the concern for our end as humans will come much sooner. Industrialization and greed will be our demise. Technology, robotics and genetics will advance to a stage where we will lose control, because mentally we will not be prepared to understand what we’ve created. Then greed will kick in and leaders throughout the world will attempt to keep everything for themselves. The Africa we see now will be the model of how these greedy power hungry leaders will take us. Our destruction will come from our own hands. Mankind will die from its own creation, but the planet will continue to its natural death also.
All this, however, depends in your belief. If this world will end, then so be it. If not, then that's good as we still have time to change our bad values. Are you afraid this world will end? Don't be. Be happy you lived enough to see this beautiful world.

Do you ever wonder what will happen in the year 2012? A lot of people around the
world think the world is going to end. But when you think about a lot of people
said the world is going to end in year 2000 and guess what nothing happen so I'm
not sure if anybody is going to believe that the world is going to end again. I
decided to do some research and I found that not that many researchers consider
the start of the Mayan Long Count calendar to have any importance. I found this
very surprising, because the reason for the calendar beginning on August 11
3114BC might contain clues about 2012 itself. After all, the Mayan culture did
not exist 5,000 years ago, so either they randomly chose an ancient date or an
earlier civilization was behind the calendar, and they knew something important
occurred on that date.
Even without the possible return of Comet Caesar, dark comets are the leading
contender for triggering a predictable 2012 cataclysm. Comets were known to the
ancients we have many ancient texts providing us with descriptive names like
"fire from the sky" and their cyclical nature makes it easy for any civilization
with mathematical prowess to predict. Thousands of hypothetical dark comets
remain undiscovered in modern times, and if we do find one on a collision course
with our planet, we may only have a few years, or even a few days, to prepare.
And those times will be times of mass panic. Many lost comets could be coming
close to Earth in 2012, but without recent observations, there is no way of
accurately calculating their passage.
An ancient civilization may have tracked comets for much longer than our present
civilization, giving them a great advantage in determining the periodic of long
period comets a longer period that adds up to a 2012 rendezvous is more
statistically reliable than that of a short period comet. Every passage
increases the chance of permutations due to encounters with the gravity of
planets it may pass. The comet has orbited 4 times in the last 2000 years is
more likely to still be on course that one that has orbited unseen 50 times in
the last 200 years. There is no scientific evidence that anything untoward will
happen in 2012. All we have to suggest that 2012 will be any different to 2011
or 2013. That why I don't believe anything what I read on the internet or the
news if we are supposed to die then I guesses are time is up. How would this

Mother nature has ways of dealing with over population. It’s not hard to see what will happen. The population will continue to grow until it surpasses the infrastructure of society. When too many people live close together without basic necessities like toilets or they over tax the sewer system, them sewage goes to ground water as the entry point into the food chain. Raw sewage breeds rats and mosquitoes until a virus or strain of bacteria is produced for which we cannot cure now add the fact that a human can be on the other side of the world in 12 hours and you see that a pandemic is the next logical outcome. The pandemic wipes out a significant percentage of the population. The chances of this happening doubles for every city or area that is over populated. What is unlikely in a few years with only one over populated site becomes a certainty in many years with lots of over populated sites. Overpopulation is a big threat. We have to think about resources, Water, for example. Land is another issue, clearing the trees and forrest which produce our oxygen. Landfills will get larger and larger and could possibly lead to polluting our drinking water or having an effect on other parts of our ecosystem. China had the right idea of making a 1 child per couple law. This isn't a hot topic now, but it most likely will be only when its almost too late. Each couple should have no more than 2 children to pause the growth. I know families w/ 9,10, 15+ kids. The more humans there are, the more we need to rely on human infrastructure turbo-charging natural development of foodstuffs and raw materials processing in order to keep up with demand, which requires replacing complex eco-systems that exhibit erratic patterns of production for the goods we need to survive with simpler, faster and more reliable production mechanisms we can control. Those mechanisms are more vulnerable than the natural ones, as a lot of the complexity in natural systems acts as a defence mechanism against intrusion and control by parasites, bacteria, funghi and other nefarious killers, preventing the attack from going all the way up and down the chain. Our simpler artificial systems are vulnerable, not just to attack, but also to the omission of key inputs with systems we do not sufficiently understand to actively support resulting in extremely suppport systems meant to be stable enough to support an exponential demand on its output, both in food and essential ressources for the survival of the human race.. My solution is let's go into space!

There is so much debate and discussion about December 21, 2012 being the end of Earth as we know it. This is all so confusing and controversial that you are really not sure what to expect or believe for that matter. I watched a show on SYFY (Nov. 7, 2009) they were talking about the end of the Mayan Calendar; they spoke of all the cataclysmic events that were going to take place on December 21, 2012. They were saying there would be volcano’s erupting like we have never seen, massive hurricanes/tidal waves, earth quakes that would be so horrible they would jump off the chart/rector scale, and meteor showers like rain. I guess I am a little apprehensive to believe that this will really take place simply because of a calendar ending. Do you remember when we went (or did not rather) go through the Y2K scare when we began the year 2000? Supposedly all computers were going to crash because someone somewhere predicted this event affecting people around the world. There is discussion that the poles in the North and South are going to switch places causing severe climate changes.

Naturally this is all speculation because there is not any scientific proof that this will even occur. All of this is being based off of the Mayan calendar ending; because they were good mathematicians for their time and scribed events taking place into stone. Carving into stone was their means of documentation obviously because paper did not exist then. Predictions are being drawn off of those scribes done. The Mayans based all events off of the stars along with the cycles of the sun and the moon. This could very well be a case of them not thinking that the Earth could not survive all of these years. The Egyptians and Romans were also great civilizations with master carpenters, artists that carved and painted events from the time for future reading, as well as ones who could read the stars. Certain games (or sacrifices) were played (done) facing the sun only when it was at a certain direction because in essence they were playing for the God’s.

If this prediction that dates thousands of years back is to in fact happen and the Earth will cease to exist as it does now, there really is not much we can do to prepare. A video I watched said that there are people actually building underground safety shelters for a place to go and live. They had mentioned that in order to “overcome” the end of Earth they would have to stay underground for ten years. I think this is all hype and if we are meant to die then that is the will and you can’t change destiny. There are so many people all of a sudden becoming so aware of the global warming issue, they should have been thinking of the damage to the ozone before it started happening not after it is too late to really make a difference. Naturally anything you do now may minimize the effects but the damage is so far gone it can not be reversed in our lifetime.

Solar storm cycles are predicted about every 11 years. The next cycle was predicted to likely start in March of 2008 and reach it's peak at the end of 2011 or in the middle of 2012. that is almost a year later than expected according to a forecast that was given by the NOAA Space Environment Center and some solar experts. While there is an active solar period, harsh eruptions happen a lot more often on the sun. explosions and solar flares, which are known as coronal mass ejections, shoot photons and matter, which are highly energetic and very highly charged, towards the Earth. When this happens it messes up the Earth's ionosphere and geomagnetic field, which in turn will affect satellites, GPS signals, airline communications, power grids, and can even threaten astronauts with radiation. Even though the effects of a solar storm can look beautiful, looks can be deceiving. These storms have tremendous power and can travel at speeds up to five million miles an hour. These solar storms have been known to knock out sattelite, power supplies, navigation systems, and communication systems. A lot of the effects of solar storms are basically invisible, but they are very disruptive and dangerous to the systems that they knock out and to the economy of the nation. Also the damage to these systems can disrupt every infrastructure that depends on them. For instance, emergency response systems, transportation, security systems, wireless networks and other electronic equipment. These solar storms can even pose a biological threat to people flying in air crafts at high altitudes and latitudes and also to astronauts. Even though a prediction forecast is being used by industries and government groups, our vulnerability to these solar storms will increase as we become dependent more on these technologies. The intensity of a solar cycle is measured in maximum number of sunspots, which are dark spots on the sun that mark the areas of magnetic activity that is heightened. The more sun spots that there is, the higher the chance of a major solar storm occurring. The forecast of the intensity of the next solar storm is half of forecasters saying it will be strong and the other half saying it will be weak. I think that most of the information about solar storms are just predictions, and very little, if any, being facts. In 2012 the sun will reach its 11th cycle which is called "solar maximum". That is when the sun is its most active stage. It is just prediction that an explosion will occurred with the energy of 100 billion atomic bombs. This type of explosion is called a solar flare. This can cause some serious problems on our planet earth. In 2009 a new study from the National Academy of Sciences outlines a grim possibility for Earth for a worst-case scenario solar storm. Some of the damages that they predicted are: Damage to the power grids and other communicated systems, which could effect leading to a potential loss of governmental control of the whole situation. 2012 information can be heard of in many places, even the bible. The prediction though is based on the major solar storm that occurred in 1859 which made telegraph wires to short out in the U.S and even Europe starting a huge widespread of fires.Power grids are can be greatly affected because they could cause a chain reaction of failures that would go across the entire U.S, even causing over 130 million people to lose power.-According to the new report in 2009. It was the worst storm in over the past 200 years. Because of the modern power grids and satellites that we have now scientist say that much more is at risk today. A lot could be interrupted because of this huge predicted storm in 2012. Now you have the time, four years of time, to enjoy yourselves before… the end. So what is all this crazy talk? We've all heard these doomsday predictions before, we're still here, and the planet is still here, why is 2012 so important? Well, the Mayan calendar stops on December 21, 2012, churning up all sorts of religious, scientific, astrological and historic reasons why this calendar foretells the end of life as we know it. The Mayan Prophecy is gaining strength and appears to be worrying people in all areas of society. In my opinion out there is no scientific evidence to really believe that in 2012 a catastrophe will occur. For me these predictions are based on the Mayan Calendar. And right now this revolution is causing that the people are getting scare about it. Cinematographers are seeing the opportunity to make money with the movie 2012, some people are scare to watch it and other are exiting that the movie comes out to go and find out what is all about it. Prophecies about the end of the world are been out there forever, I remember all the speculations about that something big it was going to happened after 12:00 PM, by the end of the year 1999 turning to the year 2000, and anything never happened.
NASA predicts that a polar reversal it will happened on the Sun by the year 2012. Scientist are been concerned about are the effects of solar wind, solar storms, and solar flares in our planet. The scientist are alarmed because the magnetic the earth magnetic fields is decreasing and that magnetic field is what protect the earth from the sun’s harmful rays. Without protection the sun rays and radiation will enter the earth atmosphere, and this it will be enough to kill plants, animals and human life. In the case that this will happen, I think that just will cause damage to technology.
The (UCAR) are been researching about the sun cycles. Sun cycles happened every 11 years, and the sun pole shift back and forth every cycle, the solar cycle 24 it will be in 2012. The scientists are predicting that in cycle 24 the activities on the solar storms will increase for some reason. They don’t have any specific reason that they could explain why exactly this will happened. Trough the year are been a lot of prophecies and speculations about other events that never happened. The movie Knowing is about the idea that the end of the world it will be by solar storms that will affect the earth, but they all are speculations.
Nobody can predict the future. The earth survive other solar storms that are been happening trough the years, and I don’t think that this one are going to be different. The scientists are researching the possibilities that in December of 2012 the earth will be affected by solar storms, but there is not scientific evidence that can affirm that this catastrophe it will happen. 2012, what is all the hype about? Why is 2012 dubbed as the year of when the world and everything on it will cease to exist? I am not sure why or how it started until now. According to the Mayan Calendar the world will come to an end and why would you say? I have done some investigating to hopefully prove the Mayans wrong. I have also discovered how some people of the American society are making this bigger than it really is. Personally, I don’t think anything is going to happen and life will go on but here is what I have found.
Doing some research, I have discovered that there were many different Mayan Calendars. Some were used for social, agricultural, commercial and administrative tasks but had a heavy religious element to them (http://www.universetoday.com/2008/05/19/no-doomsday-in-2012/). Although our calendars today are only for social, agricultural and economic views – the religious part is not a priority in our calendar system. The Mayans then combined two calendars to make one, The Calendar Round. The Calendar Round was based on thirteen and twenty base units. Internet searches of 2012 are popping up as a search engine favorite. As soon as a person types in 2012, the words “2012 movie” automatically appears. I clicked on the link and guess what appears, the Mayan Calendar Round spinning as it would work in real life. By viewing the previews it looks like the end of the world really does happen. Only time will tell the truth but hopefully it is another day in the calendar.
Can you believe all the thoughts and outcomes of one specific date? How did this one Mayan prophecy make people think of what is to come? Now, a movie has been made and waits to be seen the thoughts of all societies to be told. I bet many people’s opinions will be different and some people may even change the way they live their lives. This brings me to a simple yet suggestive opinion. 2012 is a Mayan theory and a theory is what it is. The only basis that seems to be true is the fact that their prehistoric calendar does not match our modern method. Many other sources have deemed 2012 and other dates of importance. The dates have failed to follow through. Media and an urge for excitement in humans make this date a major event.

My Research on the Understanding of 2012

I have to be honest with you and tell you that I did not know much about 2012. After doing a lot of reading and research on this I do know that there is no exact scientific evidence on this. This is all based on the Mayan Calendar. I think you first have to understand that this is all based on the cycles of time, like the 24 hour cycle of the day. The present cycle is 5,125 year long cycle which is linked to an astronomical event that first occurred in the year 3114 B.C. It ends on December 21, 2012 which is the winter solstice. What is supposed to happen on that day is an alignment that is occurring because Earth does this little tip and this little wobble over long periods of time. As Earth changes and tips and wobbles in its orbit, it changes the scenery of the night sky. Scientist has discovered that the center of our Milky Way galaxy is a very powerful source of magnetic energy. Which means that sometimes we are further away and tilted away from it and the effect is less and sometimes we are closer and tilted toward it and the effect is greater. On December 21st, 2012, we have a straight shot, a linear shot, which would be unobstructed by any other planets in our solar system where we have direct access to that field of energy.
We are already seeing sign of change in our earth, for instance, some cities being wiped off the face of the earth that are near shallow coastlines. We have seen major earthquakes and tsunamis. We are seeing forest fires, people dyeing from disease. I think through research that it is good to prepare and to help other people with such changes.
When I was researching this “end” it is an increasingly hot topic on the internet, printed articles, books and all in discussions all over the globe. The is because it just might be an incredibly important moment in history.---the end of history! Calendars, in general, do not end. The whole purpose of keeping a calendar is to predict future events based upon the cycles of the nature of the world, to keep things such as agriculture in line with the seasons. But the idea that everything is coming to some sort of completion, the end of cycles, the end of days, and the end period. This just does not compute when it comes to the idea of the calendar. But the Mayan Calendar is not necessarily your average run of the mill calendar. It is among other things, with its reputation to be the most accurate in the world. It is also a relatively complicated calendar, using cycles of 13 and 20, relating to the cycles of other planets and in general incorporating some 22 different sub-calendars, such that every contingency can be accounted for. The Mayans did not elaborate in great detail about what would happen in 2012 A.D. just that their calendar would end.
With most skeptics believing that it will be a normal day just before the holidays. But, what if ones nightmares come true and December 21 becomes a day of great panic that man has ever seen. For those that don’t know who this source of these ideas of doom came from we can look to the Mayans. Kye’s Prediction of 2012

There are many thoughts and speculations as to what will happen on the day of Dec 21, 2012. From the research I have done and the information I have gathered, as well as a few thoughts and ideas of my own added to the mix, I bring you Kye’s Prediction of 2012.

The first cause of 2012 comes from a universal alignment. Once every 26,000 years, the earth and the sun align with the center of our galaxy causing a massive flux of gravity and energy (the night sky shifts 1 degree every 72 years). The ‘lunatic’ effect that we get during nights of a full moon will be exponentially larger. This alignment will not only affect life forms, it will also affect the electromagnetic field on earth. The increased electromagnetism will cause the poles to shift, potentially flipping the world upside down. North will be south, east will be west, and the sun will rise on the other side.

The increased electromagnetism will also have an effect on the glands and brain functions of animals. Since animals are so dependent on a healthy magnetic field, the increase will have a massive affect on biology. The total effects can’t be predicted, but a change of our ecosystem is due to occur.

The change that has been predicted is in the human body. It is said that man is currently in evolutionary stage 3, whatever that means. From a religious standpoint, this is what became of us after the Garden of Eden fiasco. The events of 2012 are said to bring us to evolutionary point 5. This will greatly increase our awareness and self-connection. This will open mankind up to the level we were supposedly created to operate on. Metaphysical capabilities will be the norm: telepathy, telekinesis, unlimited health, immortality, flight, matter translocation; pretty much any ability a god was ever rumored to have will be ours.

From the speculated predictions of the end days of many religions, as well as the accredited predictions of the Mayans, 2012 is supposed to be the marker of the end of days.

The Mayans have a calendar that marks many important days throughout history. It is the most accurate calendar ever made, and this was done years before any supercomputer was made. They have accurately predicted all of the activities of the planet and star movement in our galaxy. They say that the activities of the heavens have a direct reflection on the actions of man. They have previously predicted the start and end of ages past, as well as major disasters and even the end of their own people. 2012 is the last year of their calendar. The final year where the galaxy will make its most major change ever, one that only happens once every 26,000 years. This moment will either destroy all of mankind, or bring us to a new age of eternal happiness and prosperity.

Religions have always been trying to predict when their god will come back to change to world into their preset image. Like in 2000, religious and secular ideals are the same. Faiths are jumping on the 2012 bandwagon, suggesting that this will be the time. All of the goings-on in the world are all signs that our age will the THE age; the long-awaited time when god will smite the sinners and cleanse the world for the faithful to rule for eternity.

Planet X. Many have said that there is a 10th planet in our solar system (if you still include Pluto). This planet moves on a great elliptical rotation between our sun and a collapsed brown star that is too dark to see that sits just outside of our known planets’ rotations.

This planet has been written in texts of old from civilizations such as the Sumerians. Every 3600 our 10th planet comes into view, circles around the sun and continues on its journey.

This planet, called Nibiru, is full of an alien raced known as the Annunaki. This highly advanced race is said to previously have taught us science, politics and many other trades. They are much taller than man, with lizard wings, advanced technology, and supernatural abilities. It is said that when their planet is in range of Earth they fly over on their ships in order to excavate gold, a necessary resource that is growing scarce in their world.

These Annunaki are said to have mated with human women and their hybrid offspring were the race of Nephilim, giants of old, Goliath’s race.

The next cycle of Nibiru is predicted to return around 2012, and with all the other activity going on, having an alien race in the mix may cause some trouble.

Many individuals have had visions and predictions of this turn of events. Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce are among two of the most famous. Their predictions of the end times have many similarities to the goings-on of today.

Not only will the galactic alignment affect the world, with all of these prophecies and predictions and spreading of information on the topic, man has created for itself a self-fulfilling prophecy.

We believe so strongly that something will happen on Dec 21, 2012, that we are inadvertently creating the future that we fear.

An internet program known as spiders goes from website to website gathering information of the popular opinions of people. This program has been used to predict changes in the stock market as well as election decisions, trends, and general views of the public. This program has gathered information that because of the mindset of the people, even if no other event happens, the world will face a major change in 2012 that will not only effect the economy, but also affect the activities of the world as a whole.

There is a great focus in 2012 for all of mankind. This could be one of the greatest let-downs of all history, as every single prediction of the end of the world has been mistaken up to this point. But there is also a chance, that this may very well be the time, the turning point in history, that will change us all forever, and we all sit on the brink.

The topic I chose was Solar Storms for some of the speculated changes that are going to occur in 2012. According to Fox News there would be severe damage done to power grids and other communication systems. Scientists fear that something of this magnitude would cause for all chaos and potential loss for the government to keep order and control within the United States. The prediction has originated from a huge solar storm that took place back in 1859. This storm was so sever it caused telegraph wires to short out which happened throughout the United State and through Europe as well creating massive fires. We are now much more at risk due to the high voltage we now have, we would definitely have more of a social and economic crisis now then years past. Once the sun hits its active phase which happens around the 11th year, it could potentially unveil what could be a powerful magnetic storm. This could interrupt and or destroy astronaut safety, disable some if not all satellites or communication systems here in United States, and elsewhere. The storm can wipe out power grids by melting away at the transformers, this would cut power from 130 million people just here in the United States, and this isn’t even including others that would be affected around the world. Scientists have different theories as to when and how this will all take place no one seems to agree on the time frame but they all know it will come in 2012. A website called www.sfgate.com states that one key researcher predicts that the cycle will start in late 2007 early 2008. What they have agreed on though is that when these storms do start to hit they will hit hard and will be huge. The scientists all seem to be pretty confident that on the forecast that they’ve made that in 2012 these storms will take place. They say they’ve used a new computer model to do what they call “forecast” the past. What the scientists did was, they took used records from several old solar cycles to help them try and figure out how the sun should have been during the last eight cycles. ON another website called www.intomobile.com NASA calls this “The quiet before the storm”. It seems as though they have scientific evidence of this storm happening, based on the research and tracking they have done on the cycle of the sun. But my question would be if they said things should have started in 2007 or 2008 did they? If they did I wasn’t aware of them.

These types of topics can be interesting to start and to read others on how they view how human life on Earth will end. I was brought up as a Born Again Christian. With that said, my personal opinion on how human life will end comes out of scripture from reading the book of Revelations. There are several signs that are given throughout the book of Revelation that prepares you for the ending times. It can be confusing to understand but I’ll try to say it as clear and understandable as possible. Some signs that you are told to look for are what’s referred to as the” Mark of The Beast”. The Mark of the Beast refers to humans no longer using money or credit cards etc to purchase items anymore. It states that people will have a mark on their body or within their body that is like a computer chip, which will be the new way of payment. Another sign is a global monitory system. This is already taken place in Europe. Global monitory system means that say for example the money France uses, that same money will be able to be used in areas around. All of the things we are experiencing these last few years within the economy and wars, etc are all the setting of the stage. Some more signs are global warming, which obviously is already in effect you hear and read about it all the times especially more and more as the years go on. As the years pass there are more and more diseases that are coming about, back when my mom and dad were kids, half of the diseases around now were never heard of back then. Things will only continue to get worse. Global finances is another one, meaning economic crisis. We are already experiencing this in a huge way. This year alone has put the economy is such a disaster financially it’s effecting just about everyone. All of the things I just mentioned above leads up to what I believe is the Anti-Christ coming. I believe that the Anti-Christ will be a global leader and everyone will love him, he will provide and take care of the world in great ways for 3 ½ year period, after that time period the true colors will start to show and the world will be in complete turmoil for another 3 ½ year period. Within this 3 ½ time frame there will be total destruction of 1/3 of the entire Earth’s population. Technology today that God has given us the ability to create and use will be what eventually destroys our world as we see it now. There will be no mistake on who the Anti-Christ is, he will be seen and known. The failure of people to acknowledge that Jesus had come will expose the Anti-Christ. This Anti-Christ in the Bible is referred to as the Beast, this Beast will have supernatural powers as well as a massive global influence. The Beast will appear as a political leader, and will make peace with Israel , and take world leadership. After that is done he will move on to a religious leader that everyone will follow. After that is when his true colors are reviled and people see him for who he is. So this is who we know and see the world ending is by Christ and the Anti-Christ returning.

If an event occurred in the near future that could end life on earth I think the biggest threat of that happening would be from terrorism, viral pandemic or climate change. I conducted research on what scientists studied and feel would be a cause of the end of life. Different experts on different studies like climate change, viral pandemic, terrorism, telomere erosion and meteorite impact have given their analysis on how it could most likely happen and affect the earth and life. Terrorism, viral pandemic and climate change had high chances on the end of life. After reading these different views I personally believe life on earth could end from those three but more likely climate change or viral outbreak since there are many environmental things happening today like more hurricanes, volcanoes becoming active and more people in other countries having high rates of HIV/Aids, SARS and other serious illnesses on the rise. Although the society is getting involved in becoming more green and smarter about conserving energy and recycling there are still many issues in other countries with pollution that affects the earth and the climate. For instance with the global warming and melting of the artics. There have been many discussions on the news and discovery channel about the melting of the artics and its effects on the animals, plants and earth itself. In the research I conducted the senior research associate at Tyndall Center for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia stated “By the end of this century it is likely that greenhouse gases will have doubled and the average global tempera¬ture will have risen by at least 2C. This could lead to global food insecurity and the widespread collapse of existing social systems, causing mass migration and conflict over resources as some parts of the world become much less habitable.”(The Guardian) With this statement I think the climate could cause some sort of downfall for society with farmers who provide produce and meat. Without being able to grow and provide these things our food source could become scarce and end in society starving eventually leading to death from starvation. I also feel a viral pandemic could affect the world in a major way after reading a statement made by Professor Maria Zambon who is a virologist and head of the Health Protection Agency's Influenza Laboratory. Professor Zambon stated “The 1918 influenza outbreak caused 20m deaths in just one year: more than all the people killed in the First World War. A similar outbreak now could have a perhaps more devastating impact.”(The Guardian) After reading this statement it made sense to me since the world today is suffering from so many outbreaks of deadly diseases such as in Africa and Asia. If it occurred in the future were an outbreak of a deadly disease happened and the virus start being transmitted easily and take over we could face a serious death rate. Eventually this may lead to millions of people dying and also animals becoming infected as well if it became an airborne outbreak.

I think that the world is moving at such a very fast pace. It seems people are in a hurry to do everything as fast as they possibly can; there is no patience these days. I find it very hard to run into people who are just plain and simply polite or nice everyone thinks that they are better than everyone. It makes such a violent and UN polite world out there. And the way the violence keeps getting worse is very mind boggling everyone seems as if they are the only ones that habit the earth. I remember when I was about nine or ten and I am only twenty two born in 1986, when I was at that age I knew all my neighbors on the block everyone knew each other’s kids and moms and dads. So they would all keep an eye out for each other now you’re lucky to even know the name of 20% of the people who live on the same block.
This makes every ones neighborhood so much more easily to commit a crime or take someone’s kid. I believe that this world is becoming way to violent you always have to keep an eye out for your kids every second or else something can happen in a flash of an eye. And the way we are polluting our habitat is insane people do not realize the damage that is going on to the atmosphere and biosphere. So between the violence and pollution is just the beginning, it seems as if the world is becoming way over populated. It is so hard for an American to find work these days it is scary. So when someone loses their job and cannot feed his family what do they turn to violence or crime to feed their family.
So know we have the crime and violence going up the pollution and over population which creates everyone to become more stressed out, global warming, killings, and just chaos. I don’t know what it will be like when my two year old daughter grows up but I hope we start getting things straight here in our country before we go worrying about other countries. We send millions of hours of work to be done by another country when we are starving are own Americans out of jobs and security. I believe if the pollution does not start to kill us that people are just going to start fending for them.
Whether that be stealing and robbing or boarding up their windows and lock the doors so their family don’t end up on the street because there is no work for a man to maintain his family. We need to start focusing on the livelihoods of our own country. People need stability and jobs to make a living. So know the pollution is the next issue these freak storms and warm weathers are a hint to us that we are doing something wrong. The habitat can only handle so much before you won’t be able to leave your house because the ultra violet rays will just burn you. Or there will be no more oxygen and will all be wearing respirators to recirculate the air we need to breathe.
Everyone just needs to slow down and take care of each other as we have done in the past and slow down. We all want to live happy and when it comes down to it everyone wants to live period. So if we all don’t come together the world will end in violence or destruction of all mankind and everything that habits mother nature’s beautiful earth one for all for one we need to focus on America and set standards for the world to follow. Magnetic Pole Reversal, it has been noted that 94% chance that approximately four years from now, major events will destroy and devastate our planet. Some scientists and geologists says we are in the middle of a deadly year cycle then and if this day comes. There has been no scientific evidence that Magnetic Pole Reversal will happen. There are a lot o other things that can threaten our planet in the year 2012. Example asteroids strike, supernova or geomagnetic reversal. Or something more close like a flu pandemic, or nuclear war. If Magnetic Pole Reversal was to happen in the year 2012 this might let cosmic rays freely penetrate to the Earth’s surface and cause mutations. If the magnetic field of the earth suddenly changes, which happens naturally every 250,000 years or so , we can see from the fossil record that the past field changes had no effect on living organisms. This is most curious because of the field reversal( North magnetic Pole shifting to the Antarctica and the South magnetic pole shifting to the artic region in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Continental earthquakes have gone up by 62% , the underwater volcanoes and earthquakes have gone up 88%. There would be , floods, fire, plague wars, sub zero weather etc. A lot of cities would become its own bomb and dates/times would return to the surface to explore and repopulate. “Survive 2012.com Magnetic Pole Reversal have been happening on average once every 400,000 years, with the most recent one being 730,000 years ago.” There has also been a possibility pole which states Possibility this century 8, Possibility in 2012 7, Could Ancients Predict it? 7.…Total Possibility/Predictions 22. The way I see it, we (as humans) will either breed ourselves out of existence, or create some virus that will eradicate all life on the planet.
Breeding ourselves out of existence:
Bioengineering human parts (Ears, liver cells, skin, cartilage, bone, heart valves, tendons, intestines, blood vessels, and breast tissue) has already begun, and even though this is seen as a major breakthrough in the medical world, it is not natural. It seems we have become able to grow ears on the backs of mice, mice that were genetically altered to be hairless and whose immune systems have been suppressed to prevent rejection of the added human cells. Just the magnitude of this procedure boggles the mind, we have gotten to the point that we can grow just about anything, and soon we could replace limbs, and the cloning of humans themselves is not far behind, the more we replace of the original, the less and less human we will be, in 100 years if we have not already killed off the human race with bio-toxins , nuclear war or some other foolish venture, we as humans will be less than 70% human, as compared to our ancestors of the 1950’s. and add another 100 years, and that number drops drastically, eventually, what are now will be gone, all that makes us uniquely human will be gone. So, by those statics, I would say that the human race as we know it, will be “dead” in 200 years or so.

Killing ourselves with bioengineered virus:
Every year it seems that there are more and more deadly viruses popping up, and to combat these viruses, we create a way to inoculate ourselves, thus cause immunity to them. Eventually our immune system is going to shut down, and make us as a race incapable of fighting viral infection. With all the toxins in our air and in our food, our bodies are fighting every day just to keep us healthy. I see this as another possible end to the human race, and other species. I feel that the more we have to fight deceases, the less we are going to be able to fight them. I don’t feel that our immune system can keep adjusting to the onslaught of manmade pathogens and carcinogens that we produce every year, and that it will takes its toll on us.
Now granted, these are worse case situations , and as it has been proved some many times in the past, man will adapt, and if we do pollute this planet, we will find another that we can adapt to, so, earth may not longer be a habitat for man, but I don’t honestly think mankind will every just fade away in to the night, we are like a virus, we replicate and keep going until there is nowhere else to go, and then move on to other areas, and keep replicating. When it was said “Go forth and multiply” maybe someone should have given us a limit.

Let me first say, that I do not think that we have to worry about any kind of event in the near future that will end all civilization completely. This is a hard question to answer. I have an opinion on two different ways that the world might eventually end.
All the superpowers in the world such as the U.S, Russia, China etc are in a constant arms race, continually supplying their arsenals with nuclear weapons if ever threatened. It is scary to think that countries, including us, so have the capability of mass destruction at the touch of a button. Yes, the probability is very, very small and with few exceptions every country abides by strict laws with regard to weapons of mass destruction. But isn’t it scary that countries are even allowed to possess these bombs in the first place? I feel nuclear war is dangerous because if one country decides to unleash these weapons I think a domino effect will occur and we could be headed for a deadly nuclear World War Three. If we are so concerned with outdoing one another to acquire these weapons will we not at some point try and outdo each other in using them? It almost seems pointless to just pile up these weapons for “safety.” So if the world were to end, I would think nuclear warfare might be a viable option. It is very important to note that we hold the future in our hands with nuclear warfare. The next possible population-ending event is probably less preventable.
Disease spread is something that is scary, real, and possible. As I have learned recently, bacteria is constantly producing enzymes that combat the effects of antibiotics. We are continually coming up with new vaccines to battle new strains of bacteria. Take for instance smallpox. In the 17th and 18th centuries, smallpox was present in every country except Australia and a few islands. Millions of people died as a result (Brannon, 2004). Granted, vaccines were non-existent but this just proves how fast and how deadly a disease can be. I really believe that at some point we will come across a strain of bacteria that we simply cannot fight. I think that this is a real possibility simply because of the bacterium’s ability to defend against antibiotics. On a larger scale, I think we might face a virus that is beyond our capability to ward off. A cold can be passed on through the air. What if some day we come across a really bad cold? This might be a poor analogy but I cam convinced that this is more dangerous than people let on.
Both nuclear warfare and diseases are very different ways that the world might end. Mass extinction via nuclear war would be our fault and our blood would be on our own hands. Once again, why would superpowers such as Russia, China and us race to attain all these weapons and not intend to use them? Protection? Do we really need all of this for protection? Is an all out world war three inevitable? Or might mass disease spread end civilization? As hard as we work to prevent sickness, sickness works just as hard to prevent being stopped. Bacteria battles to survive, and some day, we might come across a strain that spreads too fast.

I will be talking about the changes that are concerning the 2012 increases in solar storms. Kind off a scary subject being that its talking about the end of the world and stuff. It’s actually something that freaks me out a little bit. So, from what in different websites it said that scientist has proved that solar storms are not increasing in numbers but they are increasing in strength. I read in one of the websites that according to NASA scientist they have found by studying all the past storm starting all the way back in the 20th century that about every 11 years solar storm occurs. After they studies all the information with new technology they have predicted a solar storm to happen in 2012 with greater of about 30% to 50 % stronger than the last judging by the activity of the sun spots. I hope I don’t have nightmares about this. I read in another website that a lot of things will happen if something like this occurs. It said that trains will collide and planes will crash due to communication system failure due to no power. It said that millions will die of hunger and thirst. Which is horrible because to even think about that makes me a little nervous. They said that the financial system will collapse. I really think that they are making it or putting it worst than what it may be. I don’t know but talking about this really freaks me out because I really don’t like thinking about the end of the world or how it’s going to happen or when it’s going to happen or none of that. Especially at this time of night, talking about this gives me the creeps. Sorry professor but didn’t really like this topic very much. But anyways enough about me being freaked out by this and let me tell you a little bit more of what I found out. It said that the affects that it will have on earth will be devastating, because first it will affect earth’s satellite that are orbiting to earth’s atmosphere. We would have problems with our electricity, phone lines etc. Well in different websites it said different things about the storm some made it scarier than what it really could be. Some talked about the end of the world and others just said that it might be a huge catastrophe. Let’s just hope that none of this happens, atleast for now and many years to come.

My personal belief on how life on earth will eventually end will have a couple of factors. I believe global warming will have the greatest impact. Global warming is broken up into groups: man-made, anthropagenic, and natural causes. Natural causes can include climate change. The release of methane gas from the arctic tundra and wetlands will affect the atmosphere. Pollution is considered a man-made cause and also the burning of fossil fuels, which is made up of organic matter such as coal or oil. These give off green house gases called co2 into the atmosphere. Mining coal and oil will cause methane gas which is naturally found in the ground to escape into the air causing more pollution. Another factor is over population which will contribute to global warming. More people in the world will mean more food consumption, housing, construction, and destruction of our forests, thus more pollution.
Our natural resources are being depleted and not being replenished, which in turn is taking the natural balance of our Eco system and destroying it. We are constantly taxing our natural resources and not replenishing what we have taken. The earth’s temperature has risen 3 to 5 degrees in temperature due to global warming, which will affect sea levels. This will cause our weather patterns to change drastically. The earth has and will incur many extreme events such as floods, droughts, heat waves, and tornadoes just to name a few. Weather pattern changes will affect our agricultural industry. This will impact us severely because how will we be able to feed the masses if our crops are affected. Whole species will be wiped out. Glacial retreats have already begun affecting our polar bears and penguins. Some of these species are already on the brink of extinction and have been placed on the endangered species list. We have recently seen that our weather patterns have changed, storms are becoming more intense. Rising sea levels are impacting us in the form of tsunamis.
The earth is changing due to our idle carelessness. Yet most people sit idly by as our scientists warn of a bleak future if we do not start to be responsible for our careless disregard of our planet. Catastrophic events will become a reality. The movie industry has recently been depicting our world as a planet that will be hit by a slew of catastrophic events which will end humanity and all life on earth as we know it. I personally believe that they are not to far from the truth. If we do not try to rectify some of the damage we as humans have done to our planet we will suffer our own extinction by our own doing.

Do I believe that the world or human life may eventually end on earth; yes I do believe that the world or we would end. I believe that just as easily we were created and brought her will be just as easily that we are taken. I think that one day the earth may either fry or burn up, or our natural resources may eventually run out. No one can really say whether or not human life or even the world would eventually end. Why, because everyone is made and born to die someday, so we have to face reality. I really hope that before the world does end or human life just end I really want to get my life together and have children; finish school too. I ask my mother that the same question and she feels that it would because “ GOD “ said so. If we go to the bible under,” Hebrews 9:26 (New International Version) 26 Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But you never know our natural resources may eventually run out. And once it does it would be like cats and dogs every man and women for themselves. I did a little research to see what others may think of the situation. I found that some people many people thinking of it as some sort of doomsday or end of the world. Is it possible for the North Pole to become the South and vice versa? What effects would this shifting have on the Earth and all its inhabitants? Yes it is possible. It is known that the Earths poles have shifted many times in the past, but it is now believed and has been tested that the poles are shifting a lot faster. What kind of effect will this have on us? The world as we know it will be completely changed, maybe even destroyed, by the year 2012, or at least that’s the speculation. Some feel that due to changes in the Earth’s magnetic fields that the poles with be reversed causing all sorts of chaos. For as long as they have been keeping track of the movement of the poles, there has been a change in their location. It has been calculated that the poles have shifted at least 10km per year. At this rate, it is expected that the poles would have completely reversed by the year 2012.
So what will happen if the poles shift? It is believed that a huge change in our magnetic field will cause our electronics to shut down and not work properly, it could also affect our satellites and possibly even bring them down. With something like that happening we might lose all forms of communication. This could lead to disorder and disarray. Another effect would be birds, fish and other animals that rely on this magnetic field would get confused and lose their way. If they do not know where they are going and head to the wrong places away from food and others of their type, it could mean possible extinction for many species. Other possibilities include: earthquakes, massive volcano eruptions and also possible effects from solar flares and sun spots that can in turn harm us directly.
Whether this is really going to happen or not can only be left up to fate. The Mayans believed that the Earth has basically renewed itself 4 times before and that the year 2012 will be the end of the 5th world and the beginning of the 6th. They feel this is why dinosaurs became extinct, the ending of one of the worlds. Based on their beliefs this world will end by earth, meaning earthquakes, movement, shift, etc. But again who’s to say this will really come to pass; everyone remembers y2k, right? Is there a way to stop this from happening, I don’t think so. So all we can do is wait and hope that it doesn’t happen in our lifetime.

This is a very interesting topic, I myself like to think I am more of a logical thinker, basing what I believe on scientific facts and not conjecture, but this myth about the world coming to an end on 12-21-12 has also peaked an interest in me, stories of the Mayan calendar ending on 12-21-12, thus showing that the world too will end ( that have yet to be proven, some people believe that the Mayan calendar, refers to a time period, not a specific date ) and about the shifting of the poles and the destruction of our technology as we know it, have been floating around for years, the y2k panic is an example of how people tend to over react to situations like this one.

I have read on a few websites that there is reason to believe that the sun will cause solar storms, and NASA has confirmed this to some extent with research they have done at National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). They are calling it a “solar maximum” (Def: “Solar maximum or solar max is the period of greatest solar activity in the solar cycle of the sun. During solar maximum, sunspots appear” http://www.nasa.gov), they make reference to similar events in our history.

Q) What would the biological effects on Earth be of such an event?

A) Solar Storms could damage power grids, endanger astronauts in the ISS (International Space Station), disrupt cell-phone towers, cause satellites to fall back to Earth, and force airliners to change their routes to protect their radio communications and to avoid deadly solar radiation. According to reports from some scientists, we are in an event of a deadly 11,500 year cycle when the ice age comes back. This cycle begins with a Polar shift, extreme volcanic activities, killer earthquakes, Tsunamis and nasty hurricanes. 11, 500 years ago, the last ice age happened and what we have started experiencing all happened then. In the last one year the earth experienced the largest three earthquakes in the last two hundred years. The underwater volcanoes and earthquakes have gone up an estimated 88% over the last three years. The continental earthquakes have gone up by an estimated 62% during the same time.

Overall I believe if these events to unfold as has been predicted, I think we will see some changes in our lives, and maybe even in our planet, I just find it hard to just assume that these events will happen, at least to the levels everyone thinks it will.

Solar storms are not actually increasing in numbers, but they are apparently increasing in strength. According to NASA scientists they have found by studying all of the past storms starting all the way back to the early 20th century, that about every 11 years a solar storm occurs. After studying all of their information, and with new technology, they have predicted a solar storm to happen in 2012 with a greater force of 30% to 50 % stronger than the last judging by the activity of the sun spots. The effects that it would have on earth could be somewhat devastating. First it would affect earth’s satellites that are orbiting close to earth’s atmosphere. The solar storms could cause it to heat in turn expanding the atmosphere itself and cause the satellites to fall back to earth. Another concern would be the airlines and the routes that the planes take to avoid headwinds and polar terrains. They avoid these due to the damage that it can do to the planes radio communication and to keep from exposing passengers, especially pregnant women, to an increase in radiation. With a severe solar storm, the planes would have to fly further south causing the chance of radio failure and exposure to the increased radiation. Not only will the earth have problems with the airlines, but they will have to deal with a major power outage across the world. The government would lose control over their countries with no way to get it back in a timely manner. Phone lines would go down, electricity to homes to run the heating and air would go out, and we would lose water services. Perishable items such as food as well as medication would be lost and fuel supply would be lost. With a power outage of this magnitude, it would take months to fix, banks would close and trade with other countries would cease. The affects that a solar storm will have on earth would be absolutely catastrophic and it would take several months to correct it and even longer for the government to regain control over their country. With a predicted solar storm to occur in just a couple of short years, I think the world should find a way to protect their technology, keep the astronauts out of space and watch out for falling satellites.

I did a little research on solar storms of 2012 was that the earths layer of the solar particles has a breach in the earths solar defense.It is suggested to start in 2012 we would have experience some of the worst solar storms ever.The46 winds would become so strong that it would start interfering with many things such as the satellites' power sources, endanger space walkers, and it could even knock out power grids on Earth. They specified that,"So if all of this is true, it should be that we're in for a tough time in the next 11 years." It appears to be that, "NASA's satellite showed that a 4,000-mile-thick (6,437-kilometer-thick) layer of solar particles has gathered and is rapidly growing within the outermost part of the magnetosphere, a protective bubble created by Earth's magnetic field."Meaning we plasma balls falling from the sun to were it is messing up our earth magnetic field. Once this happens the Earth will be a disasters.Meaning without power there would be no light, there would be no food. Many people will die and those who use back up generators to do what ever is needed,but they may not last for that long. 2012 Magnetic Pole Reversal

The magnetic pole reversal is easy to explain but almost hard to believe. The concept is that at some point in the near future, or 2012 in this case, the North and South poles will reverse their positions, this is what’s called the magnetic pole shift. This would mean our compass would now point North towards Antarctica, and South towards Canada. The last shift is said to have happened 730,000 years ago. Most of the information I gathered on Pole Reversal was highly speculative. While scientists at NASA feel that a reversal is soon to happen, the timetable is simply predicted. What scientists do know is that the Earth’s magnetic field reverses at irregular intervals. From hundreds to thousands to millions of years, scientists have said that poles eventually will shift, we just do not know when. These studies are based on findings on old volcanic basalt. This basalt contains magnetite which when cool, freezes its magnetic properties. This in turn records the time of the Earth’s magnetic field. Using this data, scientists concluded that the last magnetic field reversal happened around 780,000 years ago.
However, if pole reversals really were to happen, it would affect the earth dramatically. “ Any reversal of the geomagnetic field would influence the electrically conducting outer core of the Earth, particularly at the interface between the outer core and the Earth’s mantle.” The aftermath would result in an increase in volcanic activity.
Additionally, an effect of the Pole Reversals would be the shift of continental plates. Because of the shifts, this could be cause for increases in earthquakes. Once again, there is evidence that these shifts have happened but the effects from the shifts aren’t as clear.
I really didn’t know much about the magnetic pole reversal. Because there is so little scientific research, I tend to not pay too much attention to it. It falls in the same category of the “is life really out there” question. Who knows? But pole reversal poses some interesting questions. I assume that animals and birds would be confused with most birds flying towards grounds they are now not familiar with and animals now not familiar with feeding grounds. In terms of technology. Satellites, global trade, and compasses would all have to be reconfigured.
As I stated before, concepts and ideas that don’t have much scientific evidence are interesting to fascinate and talk about. But giving an opinion with not much fact associated with it is hard to do. So, to answer the question that was posed. Yes there is scientific evidence that pole reversals happen. There has been very little, but some. We know that it has happened but when it will happen again is the bigger question. We really don’t know. If it were to happen, increased volcanic activity and earthquakes, along with continental shift could be the consequences.

I chose to look into and discuss increases in solar storms that are speculated to start in 2012.

“An unexpected, thick layer of solar particles inside Earth’s magnetic field suggests there are huge breaches in our planet’s solar defenses.” (Jaggard, 2008) These storms are expected to be some of the worst seen in decades. Solar winds are nothing new or unusual; they cause the “northern lights” and reduce satellite performance. The stronger the winds, the brighter the lights, and the worse the satellites are damaged. A major solar storm is credited with taking down the electrical power grid in the North Eastern part of the United States and Canada in 1965 and 2003.

Part of the concern today is a “4000 mile thick layer of solar particles that has gathered and is rapidly growing within the outermost part of the magnetosphere, a protective bubble created Earth’s magnetic field”. (Jaggard, 2008) Concerns are growing that the polarity of the solar winds will work against the earth’s magnetic field and actually let more solar particles through. If this does happen, some of the possibilities would be communication blackouts, satellite failure, excessive exposure to radiation to the astronauts on the International Space Station, and cell phone failure, along with potential power outages.

While I was in the Navy and working High Frequency (HF) terrestrial radio links, one of the major items we focused on was reporting of sunspots and solar storm activity. These events were capable of causing major disruption in military communications links, which could possibly lead to catastrophic issues. Until satellite communications became common for the military in the late 1970’s, the majority of point-to-point communications was via HF links. These links were very vulnerable to any sort of electromagnetic interference. Heavy construction, radar, thunderstorms, and solar storms could put these links out of commission for hours or days.

There are many different sources of research that demonstrates our sun has very predictable patterns in sunspots and solar storms. “Some variance is solar activity is normal for the sun, which has a 22-year magnetic cycle and an 11-sunspot cycle.” (Minard, 2008) These different levels of activity are thought to have a direct effect on earth’s climate as well. The more solar flares and sunspots, the hotter the climate is. There has been a distinct cooling the last few years, this summer was the coldest on record in many areas, Chicago comes directly to mind, New York City did not have a 90+ degree day until mid August. This could be linked to the reduced level of solar activity.

In the 1970’s scientists were concerned about a coming ice age, today we are concerned with global warming. Could these shifting concerns be directly related to sunspot and solar flare activity? I tend to believe that it is. The sun affects everything we do on this planet, when we plant, when we harvest, even when we sleep. If the sun’s cycles are variable in strength, which we know they are, then the effect the sun has on our planet must be variable as well.

A change that has been speculated to happen in 2012 is the shifting of the North and South Poles. It has been stated that the North Pole will switch locations with the South Pole. The biggest question is how this is possible; since each is so far apart. Many have studied what could cause the pole shifts and came to furthering their studies of the sunspot cycle theory by Maya. Maya’s theory explained how solar lightning could cause the shifting of poles. The process determines that the earth is like a huge magnet and when lightning strikes the magnetic poles of the south and north change. Further research was conducted and the appropriate theory or explanation came from a book called “Earth under Fire” which an astronomer named Paul La Violette stated “Field flips have been accomplished experimentally, by shooting large quantities of loaded particles on a strong bipolar magnet. These particles are then caught in the magnetic fields and cause a "ring-stream" in them. At a certain moment this stream speeds up to such an extent that the field of the magnet reverses completely”. (Survive 2012) Along with the statements in this book this theory of the poles shifting is supported by science. Scientific facts show that the north and south poles are not accurately located where we think they are but they are actually kilometers away. The speculation of the poles shifting has a lot to do with the fact that the crust of the earth holding an electromagnetic charge affects the shifting of the poles because of the conditions that has an influence on it like ice build up at the poles. The recent change and intensity of the weather conditions have lead scientist to believe the poles will indeed shift in 2012. Research conducted also discloses that a solar storm could be the main cause and source of the pole shifting. A solar storm causes the electromagnetic field pull current faster than normal causing a force that pulls the south and north poles towards the equator causing a reverse in the current which sends of a magnetic field different from the earth’s own magnetic source; causing the shift of poles. The outcome of this event taking place may cause the earth’s magnetic field to disappear which could expose life on earth to cosmic and solar radiation; since the earth’s magnetic field is responsible for protecting us. It is speculated that after this happening life on earth will be restored and the earth’s magnetic field will rebuild itself after the solar storm occurs. After years of restoration; the magnetic field will protect earth and its life once again to re-enact the cycle of the solar storm thus another shift in the north and south poles again.

2012: The End of the World; Information on a Hypothesis

Just as the case was in 1999, looking on the Y2K craze, a lot of followers are drawn to the hypothesis of catastrophic circumstances said to arrive on or around December 21, 2012. As the Mayan calendar is shown to carry an unknown fate for our planet, a number of ideas have sprouted since the 1960, when much of the concepts were publicized. Among the locusts, nuclear catastrophe, unending earthquakes, years of darkness, and meteors colliding with Earth, one of the more interesting “predictions” describes a shift in Earth’s polarity. This is scientifically referred to as Geomagnetic Reversal.

There is a great amount of reality in the idea. Our beloved planet has undergone a very large, but unknown amount of these changes since its creation. In relation to human existence, it is a very long amount of time between these shifts, but there is no standard variance in the time there events occur. As a matter of fact, the reversal is something that is always occurring on a small scale, all over the surface. Magnetic fields are consistently changing polarity over time due to continental plate movement, volcanic activity, and ocean floor movement. As a matter of fact, the study of plate tectonics was brought into subsistence through the discovery of alternating magnetic fields, and variances formed in specific regions.

As far as the specificity of the Reversals in history is concerned, there are dates outlined which scientists have been able to identify as reversed or normal polarity switches. However, these are related to our time in millions of years, and the cause of or time which a full-on polarity shift is brought is completely unknown to this day. Many theories are in existence that the sun has caused polarity change on Earth over time, during its very own polarity shifts (which spontaneously occur in 7-15 year time-lapses). As this occurs on the Sun, it is typically due to intense spikes in magnetism. On Earth, weakened magnetic fields tend to be the precursor to such a change. In the scientific point of view, studies have shown that there will not be such a change until around the years beginning the 31st century.

The theory that a geomagnetic reversal is detrimental to human existence is still a debated topic; but Homo Erectus is said to have at least lived through one said shift, and lived. If there is a risk of catastrophe, in many opinions, it would show its signs through the constant shaping and re-shaping of the magnetic fields all over Earth. If there is, however, a massive and sudden shift of the globe’s polarity, we will simply have to live through it to stay around and tell the story of how it affected our species and all others, if any result transpires.

Many reasons are described everywhere on the internet about the end of the World. The most popular seven reasons are: Mayan Calendar ends on December 21, 2012, sun storms, atom smasher, Bible says, eruption of the super volcano, predictions of physicists and the drift of the poles that would lead to enough UV to kill a person.
A lot of talking but not enough of the facts. Out of all these possibilities I do not believe that the whole world will end on December 21st 2012. The reason because I do not believe in any of these possibilities is because there are not enough of the facts proving that exactly this even will destroy the whole world. All these possibilities are just predictions, nothing more than that. I believe that no one on the earth has the ability to say for sure if the end of the world will occur in three years. I do not disagree that there is a possibility of volcano eruption, sun storms or drift of the poles. I know and understand the facts related to each of the claims and I believe that there is no science behind them. Nobody knows when the Yellowstone volcano will erupt. Even if it does erupt it might not be strong enough to destroy the whole world. The ending of Mayan Calendar doesn’t mean anything either. There is a possibility that the people that were constructing Mayan Calendar all died out before they could finish it. The person that wrote the article about seven reasons why the world will end said that the Bible says so. If the author of the article knows for sure that the Bible clearly states that the end of the world will happen in 2012, why wouldn’t he quote the same exact statement from the Bible and show it to people? If it is written in the Bible, why didn’t religious people know about it a long time ago? In a year of 2000, when most of the world believed that the end of the world will occur this particular year. Does that mean people don’t read the Bible?

Talking about the end of the world in 2012 can take hours. Many people believe in what they read and hear, however why don’t they focus their attention on the lack of evidence for the end of the world? It’s ok to not believe everything you hear or read.

It was proposed that on December 21st, 2012 we would see the end of the world as we know it according to the Mayan calendar. I personally don’t believe in this theory. Over the past few years there have been numerous amounts of “end of the world” theories and they all have one factor in common. They failed, so why would this one be any different. However, if the world would come to an end, I think an undetected asteroid or meteoroid or comet would be the cause.

Back in the Permian Era, a meteoroid hit the Earth killing about 95% of its inhabitants also known as dinosaurs, if you believe I them. Then in the news on January 2, 2009, scientists announced that an impact in northern Canada about 12,900 years ago may have killed off the mammoths, mastodons, and saber-tooth tigers, and all the humans in North America by melting a Canadian glacier and flooding the Mississippi River with icy water that then disrupted the Gulf Stream and caused the mini-ice age. The Earth has been hit by meteoroids or asteroids many times, most of the time it burns up in the atmosphere and other times it leaves its mark on the Earth’s surface, also known as a crater. Recently, something, possibly a comet or meteoroid about the size of Earth, slammed into Jupiter and left a “scar” or “another spot” on the planet. Maybe on December 21st, 2009, the Earth will be hit with an undetected meteoroid or comet like Jupiter was. As it was written in the article, The End of the World, by Dr. John Costello, meteor impact is a strong possibility on how the world will end. Depending on the location and size of the meteor, a tsunami could occur flooding low lying countries or crating a dusty atmosphere which would cause problems with the crops. Or maybe a massive earthquake will erupt and cause the tectonic plates to drastically shift.

In conclusion, the world could end today, tomorrow, in the near or distant future. A meteoroid or comet going undetected is unlikely but I do happen. I am open to these possibilities; however, I think the end of the world lies in the distant future. The only way that the Earth and civilization will stop existing is if something goes undetected. And with Jupiter’s gravitational pull being to huge compared to ours I think we would not be see any meteoroid of larger sizes for awhile.

How the world will end

I believe the world will come to an end in the near future. That is to say within the next hundred years or so. I forget the quote exactly but someone once said that humans are the only species which deliberately kill each other so frequently. Humans kill for various reasons. From my understanding it is greed, sex, and power. These are all things that humans generally desire and gravitate towards. Domination and a desire to control the Earth are also factors. As stated in class, China does not care about their people and wish to start a nuclear war with us. They don't care about any of their civilians which is where they differ from the U.S. In that aspect, we are at a disadvantage and they clearly have the upper hand. They would love to nuke all of our major cities and i feel this would just be the beginning of the end of the world.

Since cavemen came into existence i feel that they have fought over things. I'm sure they fought over women, food, and perhaps the position of dominance over the people in their troop. I suppose the urge to act the way we do may just be wired into our systems. We may act the way we do because of the primal instincts that we survived on for the longest time during our caveman days. Perhaps one day we will change the way we act and transcend to a higher level of thinking. Maybe the genes that we have which causes us to act so violently will fade away.

Fighting over women, i'm sure, was not uncommon. Sex has always been a motivating factor. Even now prostitution exists because men desire sex so much. According to the miracle of life, the video that we watched in class, we are all motivated to act the way we do because we want to procreate and reproduce. We want to make babies. This could be a cause why violence exists and why we act out in the ways we do when it comes to having a sexual partner. I believe we also discussed that there may be an increase in testosterone as time has progressed. This would increase the feelings of dominance that males feel in general, which would also explain an increase in violence.

Onto how the world will end. I believe there is only one way that it will end, nuclear war. I feel like nuclear war is inevitable and the nuclear bomb is the worst thing that mankind has ever created. It's such a powerful and devastating weapon that someone will get upset one day to where they feel the urge to retaliate with a nuke. When this happens the country that got nuked will respond the same way, with more nukes. It will become a vicious cycle and will result in countries picking sides and waging mass war on each other. As they say, history repeats itself. It only seems that each time it repeats the effects are much more devastating. Very few will survive world war three since it will be fought with nukes. The Earth will need to be repopulated and hopefully then we can learn from such a horrid experience that we should no longer harbor such weapons of destruction.

The end of the world is inevitable and i feel it will occur in the near future. Our hostile tendencies will catch up with us and will cause destruction that is unfathomable. In my opinion, there is no scientific evidence for galactic alignment and that is an evidence of the end of the world. The fact that Mayan calendar ends in 2012 scares people to death. Many people even believe that it may signify the end of the world.
Certainly after reading a couple of articles about Mayan calendar and galactic alignment, it has becoming very clear why people are afraid of this phenomenon, but we should also realize that there are some facts that could prove that there are no scientific basis for linking galactic alignment to the end of the world assumptions.
Based on articles “ 2012 Mayan Calendar Prophency: Does Galactic Alignment mean end of the world? and “ 2012 Galactic Alignment –21-12-2012 Solstice Sun Conjuction with Great Ridge”, I do agree that galactic alignment will really happen, but it does mean that it will happen in the winter of 2012. Mayans predicted that the galactic alignment will happen somewhere between 1980 and 2016. There is no scientific evidence that it will happen in 2012. The galactic alignment may happen any time between 2012 and 2016 and even if it happens it is a natural planetary events and it should not be link to the end of the world theories.

There are many unclear facts about Mayans calendar. One of them is that their calendar stops in 2012. People certainly do not recognize the fact that Mayan calendar is based on cyclical counting, and it is very convenient to overlook some facts and base opinions on unclear facts. First, most people say that galactic alignment alters magnetic poles, which may cause catastrophic events such as turbulence and back hole in the center of Milky Way. There is no known scientific evidence found.
In conclusion, Galactic alignment has been linked to the end of the world theories. There is no scientific prove that would prove that. Mayans calendar has been misinterpreted meaning that Mayans calendar will not end in 2012. Mayans calendar is based on cyclical nature, the major cycle in Mayans calendar will end in this year.

With regards to the idea that the world will end on December 21, 2012, there is no scientific evidence that supports this. While there are many conspiracy theorists who make claims that this will happen, none of these claims are supported. One of the more popular claims is that the sun will explode in a supernova. This idea would effectively destroy Earth, but scientists have observed that this is not due to happen for billions of years.

A supernova in our own sun would be devastating to all life on Earth and everyone would perish. However, people who are making the claim that this is due to happen on December 21, 2012 have no scientific evidence to prove this. Based on the age of our sun and the rest of the universe, our sun is not expected to become a supernova for billions of years. Other claims that the world will end are also equally as unlikely. Other claims involve Planet X. Conspiracy theorists claim that world governments discovered Planet X years ago and found that it was on a collision course with Earth. However, there is again, no scientific evidence that this will happen. Others claim that Planet X will not collide with Earth, but come close enough to disrupt all the processes of life on Earth. There is no evidence to back this claim, just what people say is going to happen, which is clearly false. There are many other claims that can not be proven. People simply make things up so they can cause commotion and make people worried over nothing. While the Mayan calendar may be accurate with much of what it has said currently, there is no reason why people should believe that the end of the world will come on December 21, 2012. There is one simple explanation of why the calendar stopped on this date and that is that is the date at which they stopped writing. Perhaps they meant to continue making the calendar or perhaps they were making this and something such as a Spanish invasion took away their time of making the calendar. Whatever the case is there is no scientific evidence to support the claims made regarding the end of the world.

People will continue to speculate about the end of the world until it actually happens, and science shows that that is not going to happen for many, many years. The date of December 21, 2012 will come and pass, and people will forget that there was so much speculation made about this date just as all the other former ends of the

What’s that? The title of this paper does not make any sense? Well then we should be on the same page when it comes to the 2012 end of the world theory. To me all of the theories for the end of the world of 2012 are just a patchwork of loosely based ideas that falls into place for anyone trying to find support for the theory. But seeing as we were asked to scientifically prove an aspect of the 2012 theory I had to choose a destruction that seems most likely. On that note if indeed the world will end in 2012 as many people seem to believe, then I think that the most likely way for that to happen is from an asteroid hitting Earth. I am sure that some of you right now are questioning how realistic destruction by asteroid really is. If that is the case then what if I told you that an asteroid has actually just recently passed between the Earth and the moon without anyone noticing it until it already happened? While we do have satellites and telescopes monitoring the sky for these types of things it is just physically impossible to monitor the entire sky. This explains how the asteroid was able to slip by unnoticed by those satellites and telescopes. Another reason that I think that an asteroid is the most likely possibility for the destruction of life on earth is because if an asteroid that has enough mass hits the earth’s surface, not only will the impact site and the following shockwave kill off life but the resulting dust in the atmosphere would cause a nuclear winter which could wipe out all plant life leading to mass starvation. This starvation would eventually cause the population to die out until we are extinct which would in turn be the end of the world for us. But don’t get me wrong, I am in no way hoping that we get hit by an asteroid. In fact I am expecting that we won’t get hit since the probability of an asteroid hitting the surface is around one in a million.

According to many different societies and prophets the end of the world is coming in 2012. From what i have read it may come in different forms. Such forms include nuclear war, the sun lining up in a certain fashion that only occurs every twenty-six thousand years which was when the last ice age was said to have occurred. Apparently many horrible things have been happening as of late to signify that the end is coming near. People say that the countdown has begun. Nostradamus' predictions are ringing true and we are at the mercy of time.

Terrible things are taking place which signify the end. Nine eleven has taken place which was predicted by Nostradamus. Then hurricane Katrina occurred. More and more disorder is taking place which signifies, possibly, that the world is coming to an end. Iowa flooded, California suffered many terrible fires. In general there has been a dramatic increase in natural disasters. As was stated in Dr. Costello's article, the world will continue towards disorder. Once this level has reached it's capacity it will result in horrible occurrences and the world will come to an end.

With all the war, famine, and natural disasters that have taken place it is easy to see why many people think the end is near. I don't believe the world will end in 2012. As people once thought, the year 2000 would be the end of the world. There would be chaos, power would go out, computers would crash and the world that we live in that is so dependent upon machines would come under attack by people just waiting for chaos to ensue. This obviously did not happen. Although it was a good ploy for people to go out and purchase many emergency goods just in case such a disaster would occur.

In my opinion the world will continue past 2012. That isn't to say we aren't in great peril. China has made threats that they greatly dislike us and wish to get rid of us. They don't care about their civilians which makes them a scary enemy. I feel like we wouldn't know what to do about such a rival. If they care about nothing what can you do to get them to stop their rampage upon the U.S. I feel like we can't take any of their threats in a non-serious manner. They have the potential to destroy us and then we wouldn't know what to do. We have not the defenses to stop them. War has never been fought on our soil and thus we would not be prepared for such an event. We need to start taking measures against the possible threat of nuclear war. China is a terrifying adversary and mocks the lives of our people.

So is the world coming to an end as predicted by the Mayans as well as Nostradamus? It's a possibility but i feel that such an occurrence is farther away than three years. With the way the world is going it's not such a far off idea. Many threats have taken place and the world has become a more hostile place. Technology has done nothing but make the world a very dangerous place. At the push of a button nukes could be here in a very short period of time. Our major military bases could be destroyed and we would be helpless. I simply hope i have longer to live than just three years.

How many times are people going to try and predict that the world is going to end? That something big is going to vanish living populations. That the earth will consist of no more living organisms that turn into a planet much like the others we have in our solar system. It feels like yesterday when people were stocking their fridges and pantries with plenty of food and water before the clock struck midnight to bring in 2000. Just like the millennium people are predicting that 2012 is the end of what we know as home to completely vanish. However, I beg to differ.
There are many predictions for why 2012 is the end of civilization. A few of these predictions come from the mayan calendar running out, the earth undergoing a magnetic field shift, asteroid or comet hitting the earth, biblical beliefs. There are theories for all of them that I have stated above, but there is no actual proof for any. One that I found particularly interesting is the comet and asteroid hitting the earth. That type of scenario can happen any day. There have been close calls before, but there is no proof that one will hit on 2012. People come up with these crazy ideas and drill them into people’s head. People need to realize that well the end of the world could happen any day. I do not think that a scientist can predict the exact date that the world is going to end. People need to realize that without dangerous Mother Nature we have billions of years till the sun will run out. The Mayan calendar theory is a common theory I hear many people talk about when people talk about 2012. Well I think it’s a crazy idea. We aren’t mayans we don’t follow their calendar, so just because threes runs out why does that mean ours runs out too? From a website I was looking at about different theories it states that “Mayans also believed that our sun is a god powered by blood from human sacrifices” That belief to me is crazy. I don’t believe that beliefs of theirs and I also don’t believe that just because their calendar runs out that means our does too. I believe people like to think of the worst and make big scenes of little things. I believe your world will end when you die and that we won’t have to worry about when earths last day is. 2012 to me is just another 2000 scare.

The year 2012 is an infamous year and belief that the world is going to end in that year. There is a strong belief that the sun will become closer to the Earth and soon melt them away. I believe that is it not unique of how the planets are aligned. I think that there is a purpose to why all these events occur.

The planets are aligned to serve a purpose. The magnetic force in space keeps the planets in the right spot at the right distance from each other. The moon is placed near the Earth to light up the Earth at night. The sun is placed far enough from the Earth so that is does not melt the Earth away. The purpose to this sun is to give Earth light, heat, and energy. The planets rotate in the same pattern to create night and day. Slowly over the past few years, the sun has been losing its magnetic pull. This is causing the sun to move closer to Earth. This is however not unique because it is supposed to happen. People on Earth do not do a good job in taking care of their planet. Their actions speed up the time to global warming. The allow the ozone layer to deplete so as the sun is getting pulled closer there is nothing to protect them anymore. It is the people’s fault to believing that the theory of 2012 will actually happen. The Mayans predicted that the world would end in 2012. I believe that with all the incidents in the world this may actually be true. There is a possibility that nuclear war can occur due to all the war with Iraq since year 2000. Over the past few years, the tectonic plates have been shifting causing damage with earthquakes. There has also been a large amount of hurricanes and tsunamis have occurred. All of these natural disasters lead to a high death rate that can possibly knock out the whole world. These results can be the theory of Pangaea’s reform. Everything that has been occurring supports the 2012 theory. After the Earth is wiped out, it is assumed that it will start over from scratch.

All of the planets are aligned for a certain purpose. They either heat, provide energy, create light or blockage from other particles. The belief of 2012 may come true. Their future events are not unique. Everything happen for a reason and maybe the Mayans were correct and Pangaea may restart.

There are many ways in which people believe the world will end. As Robert Frost states in his poem, “Some say… in fire, some say in ice”. With the turn of the millennium, many people believed the world would end on January 1, 2000. The Y2K scare was monumental, causing many enthusiasts to rise up and call the world to prepare for the end. As I stand here today, the end never came on January 1, 2000. Currently, there are many people that believe that the world will end in 2012. Evidence has been gathered and fanatics are banning together to prepare for the apocalypse. Though I believe that these groups can be neither fully right nor completely wrong, I would like to delve further into their reasoning.
One of the many claims made by 2012 enthusiasts is that natural disasters are increasing on the earth and, therefore, there will be many more disasters in 2012. Throughout time, it has been made clear that natural disasters are on the rise. Crisis like Hurricane Katrina and the rising problem of global warming have been only a couple of the world’s recent disasters. Although it is believed that disasters are on the rise, it is also possible that we have only detected them now. Due to the technology boom, news about disasters around the world is readily accessible to the multitudes. Although this evidence supports the beliefs held by 2012 enthusiasts, it is not enough to validate the entire idea of the world ending in 2012.
The basis for the conflict over 2012 is the Mayan calendar. Interestingly, this calendar does not signify a catastrophic ending of the world; only the ending of the calendar.
Personally, I do not believe that it is possible for humans to know the exact date and time of the ending of the Earth. One of the beliefs of 2012 believers is that because the world is experiencing more natural disasters, our time here is coming to an end. Although there has been an increase in natural disasters, our technology is constantly improving along with our awareness.

Concerning the whole 2012 scenario, I really do not feel we have any need to worry because it is entirely possible that all of history is happening simultaneously. I do not feel that this hypothesis has been aptly investigated. I am not sure if I believe in this but it would explain many things. We do not have the ‘code’ we need to decipher history, especially when concerning Bible Code, which is also perplexing. In order to find really anything you really have to know what exactly you are searching for. Enter time. Whether or not time repeats, we are still mostly stuck in a fourth dimensional forward motion and do not know what events will become particularly significant tomorrow or for what reason besides what is already planned. Since the fourth dimension works in a somewhat forward motion perhaps the fifth dimension runs in a backward motion resulting in no real motion at all.

All things linear have a ‘backwards.’ Time is linear, therefore time must have a ‘backwards.’ In this case, that ‘backwards’ would constitute time travel or experiencing events in reverse order. An important note is that if there is a line of time then there is no reason we could not speed up this line. Some people suggest 2012 is the end of the line. It does not really matter if we just start right back over again and other time continuums have not yet reached the end of the line. For example, if 2012 happens now then it would have no effect on the ancient Egyptians in 3000 BCE because they have not yet reached that point on the line. If reincarnation would be true then we would probably reach the end of the line and simply restart over and over again. This could even explain why people invent some things or how we seem to make discoveries with (seemingly) mismatched time periods, like we have found a glyph of an unmistakable DNA Strand within an Ancient Sumerian monument. Odds are, in current thinking, that we are simply not giving them the credit they deserve.

In my mindset pertaining to this theory, not necessarily in my overall belief, I see time as a huge block of different colored Legos. There are different colors representing different time periods and sometimes metallic blocks in the top row each pertaining to if/when they are discovered in the next period and in the bottom row pertaining to where they were conceived in the previous. This explains different discoveries at random times. An idea must carry enough weight and momentum in order to ‘tear’ into another time period, making the metallic blocks approximately the same density as maybe a white hole, like the ‘Big Bang.’
If time is continuous, 2012 does not matter. I do not think it matters regardless of when the world ends, thanks to this theory and religious beliefs. I think humans are in this dimension because everything else is trying to get away from us; notice how ‘hell’ is supposedly at the center of the earth, farthest away from the crust, and ‘heaven’ can be infinitely far away from us yet right next to us if space loops right back around. What matters to me is that all the people we love are never far away, even when separated by time periods. For example, I have always loved Egyptology and Ancient Egypt and as a Jew am a descendant of Joseph and Aseneth, who was the daughter of the Egyptian High Priest and a loving convert; Egypt is my other spiritual half so perhaps I loved those people in a past life or was one. The world ending is a breaking point but we probably will not even remember it if we are reborn. If we do and it is 2012, then we should think how we would like to eternally be preserved and adjust accordingly.

When asked the question “how do you think the world will end?” I was left in a slump. Even though there are numerous theories on the subject, ranging from global warming to a plague to even asteroids, it just seems like most of them are very unlikely to wipe out all of humanity. Taking that into account I felt like the most obvious answer would be that the world would will end when the sun incinerates it since it is the only scenario that is fact. But seeing as leaving humanity to die because of the sun dieing just seems too boring so I thought a little more on the subject. The next idea that I had was that we might indeed make contact with alien life and that they might find us as a delectable little treat to satisfy their sweet tooth, but again I thought that this wasn’t good enough. However, all of the thinking about alien life got me thinking of the possibility of humanity trying to escape extermination by means of finding another habitable planet which would in turn make the discussion of how the would will end even more uncertain. Continuing that same train of thought I tried to think of a scenario for the end of the world that would be true no matter what the future would hold in store for humanity. The answer that I came up with was surprisingly simple: the world will end when we ourselves die. While it does sound a bit negative in a way, it does make sense by the fact that if you take into account that the way we perceive reality is through our senses and through the notion that we think and therefore we are, then once we die reality ceases to exist and therefore the world ends for us. While it is not certain if there is an afterlife one could assume that with the ending of this reality then we may start a new one and “eternal” in a sense. While I will admit that this is just purely speculation, I do believe that it is the one way that we can be sure the world will end because once we are dead this world we are living on ceases to exist for us even if we are sent to another personal “reality“.

Humans have looked towards their impending end as a moment of significance, destruction, and peaceful inevitability for centuries. In recent times, we are looking face-first at a prediction stating that we may not see past the year 2012. Based on the facts lined up behind any of the other predictions, I do not whole-heartedly believe the world will end come 2012. I do, however hold the belief that there will be very good means and methods to describe the end of our world; rather than spontaneous phenomena.

In the many ways our world could come to an end, the human race may still exist after Earth is nonexistent or deemed unfit to support life. It is in my belief that the Earth will subsist for billions of years more than it has; almost as many as it has existed, in relation to our presence. Based on previous major weather/condition cycles, we may experience severe fluctuations causing mass migrations of Earth’s human population among our currently established societies. The way we now segregate peoples by state and country will adapt to this change. It will be more accommodating to the integration of many societies to one. Whether or not we come under foreign planetary threat, the human race will have to life in harmony with one another. Hostility is in our nature, but civility has tamed the wild instincts.

By the time Earth has lived out its life cycle in our Solar System, I believe the human race will have advanced technologically and evolutionarily, to the effect that further space inhabitation will be possible. Once the craft is under assembly that can handle the conditions of outer space, or, perhaps, another planet, humans will find a way to spread among the galaxy. The containment of any such travel devices is very theoretical at this moment, but with time comes experimentation. With experimentation comes a more stable product with secured results.

Aside from human existence, the planet Earth’s natural course will lead it to be consumed by the Sun at the end of its life. As the star dies, it will grow to be a red giant, then become a nebula. In the period that it transitions to a red giant, it is more than probable that the Earth will be consumed by Sun’s massive release of energy. At this point, humans will have already planned for the crisis facing them, and acted on their survival method.

It is in my belief that the human perception of ‘the world’ will end once there is no other being to carry that concept with them. If there are any other species on other planets, they may view the planet they reside on in a completely different way. Whether or not their level of consciousness and intelligence is on the same plane as ours is completely up to chance until the point of meeting, (if there is one). Therefore, our world will end once the philosophy of what our world is dies with us, or any other species that can conceptualize it dies. As for Earth, its course is completely in the hands of the future and what threats it has in store. Whether it be a release of energy from any star, or a massive meteor, the planet will see its end in some (or many) dimension(s).

I personally do not know when or how the end of the World will occur. The end of the World can occur when there will be no more source of light on the Earth, or even before that. Many possibilities exist to how the end of the World will occur and many people think different things. However I don’t think I could agree with the people that think they know for sure how the end will come. We’re not gods and no one of us really knows when or how it will occur. Just like in the article, “The End of the World” by Dr. John Costello, it says that the chance of Earth being hit by asteroids is one out of thousand. The chance is fairly big, but sometimes even the scientists make mistakes. Sometimes even they can’t predict certain things. You can’t also predict if the end of the World will occur due to the dangerous virus or bacteria. The possibility is high that some people can be immune even to the most dangerous virus. But what if that same virus mutates to the virus that would kill the remaining people that had the immunity to the previous virus? There are many “ifs” , thought, possibilities, ideas. However no correct answers.
From the class discussion I realized that most people believe more in the option of sun expansion. The option logically does make sense, however I do not believe in it. Even though I am not extremely religious person, I do believe in God. Moreover, I think that God is the only creature that knows how the end of all living things will occur. Nevertheless, I believe that humans shouldn’t bring into their brains another problem, such as finding out the time and the reason the World will end. Life is complicated itself and I think that people should spend more time doing things they enjoy, with their families, friends. One thing that I am sure of is that each person will have his or her own end of the world. Someone’s end of the world could come earlier or later than somebody else’s. So why do humans care so much about the end of the world, if it’s going to come sooner or later anyways. Does it really matter how it’s going to happen?

Will our world ever end?

The question of how will the world will end has been on humans’ mind probably since the world started. It seems like everyone wants to know. The whole mystery is perhaps overwhelming and maybe even scary to some people. I think humans are curious in nature and that’s why all the fascination in the final day. I myself am very detailed oriented person, but for some reason I am not “dying” to know. In this paper, I would like to mention the relationship between science and religion, if there is any.
Science has few theories that are claimed, none confirmed. One of my favorite is the one that makes most sense to me and the one that is actually said to happen 100 percent. The idea of sun expansion is interesting, fascinating, and scientific. It is said to happen in about 5 billion years. On the other hand, some people believe that Jesus Christ will be the one to end the life on Earth and take us to the eternal life like he has promised in the Bible. I see nothing wrong with putting the two theories together.
Some may disagree with what I’m going to say next. If I had to chose and state my opinion or create my own way of how the world will end, I would probably go with the idea of combining religion and science. It actually makes perfect sense to me. If the God created the world and he will also end it. We are told by the Bible that he made us (the universe) from nothing, therefore he also created science. He must know how it works. It only makes sense to assume that when he decides to send his son Jesus Christ to save the chosen people, that that would also be his decision to end the world on earth. Maybe his plan is exactly to end the world in 5 billion years. Can we assume that the return of Christ will happen then? And what a joy that would be to all the curious ones to know when the possible day of judgment will happen…
As stated above there are many theories of how it all might end. We might never find out. If we knew how it was going to be finalized people would want to do everything in their power to prevent it and find a way to maybe look for help and move to another planet. Science or not personally I do not care much about the end. I think it is important to enjoy every minute of your life instead of occupying your time with ways to deal with the desire to know everything. Whether it’s science or religion or even both, we will just have to wait and see

The End of the World

Although scientifically the earth will eventually be burned by the sun, five billion years is not guaranteed for humanity. Between nuclear warfare, asteroids, pathogens, sun expansion, and so on, nobody is absolutely sure how the world will finally end. In addition to the Mayan calendar that marks the end of the world in year 2012, life’s existence on earth as well as the planet in itself is questioned.
Biblically, it is said that the world will end by fire. This could mean many things.
Could it possibly mean the most scientifically-sound way that the world will end by the sun expanding? Five billion years from now the sun will expand, increasing the temperature on Earth respectively. The heat will rise slowly killing any life forms on the planet, until eventually the Earth itself will be taken over by the sun.
If these billions of years do not pass, I believe that a nuclear war will wipe out most populations. If China does in fact have at least 20 nuclear missiles and chooses to use them, America would be forced to use theirs, holding more than 20 missiles.
However, if the world does not end by fire, I strongly believe that the world will become over populated. In 573 years, there will be one person to every square meter. This growth will place people on top of each other. This increase in population and decrease of space will cause famine and spread of disease at a rapid pace. In addition to having to face the threat of disease, there are only an infinite amount of resources available on our planet. Increase of population means that there will be an increase in production and a decrease in available resources. Soon enough there will not be enough to support all of the world’s population. Over population will possibly be the cause of death of humanity.
The existence of humanity has no life insurance. It is unknown what will happen to the planet and every being that exists on it. In addition to the statements above, I believe that there are going to be more than one problem that causes humanity to end. A combination on over population, famine, nuclear was, global warming and other things will have an effect on the end. Other global threats such as tectonic plates and volcanic eruptions are always possible. Universal threats are also present; black holes and asteroids.
There is no way to know how humanity will end or even how the world will end. I think that there are a number of ways that will destroy the place that everybody calls home. However, my world will end when I die, and that day is not even known, and cannot be controlled.

How the world will end seems to come up in the news whenever a major natural disaster or major disease outbreak takes place. Even though most scientists can agree that the sun’s life is going to end in a couple billion years thus destroying the earth, there are many other possibilities that this article offers up to the reader. The sun would eventually enclose the earth with enough gas pressure completely burning earth and ending the entire planet. This is a definite possibility of how and when life will end but because of our complicated and complex world there are many other options to think about. Through many possibilities it is not unlikely that the world will end sooner than one might think.
The first theory about how the world will end is through a plague like virus. For example the article states that the black plague killed over 100 million people at a time where the worlds population and the population density was no where near what we currently have on earth in the year 2009.
Another possibility that was brought up in the article was the possibility of a nuclear death brought on by nuclear weapons. Through the blasts from the actual bomb killing over 1/3 of each country the damaging results of the radiation would also effect just as many people. This could have damaging effects on the world because of China’s and the United States super power statuses.
One of the theories that I think has the most claim is if a meteor would strike earth. Like the article said, the speed of the meteor would create the most damaging results leaving the earth in a flooded possibly clouded barren state. Thus, most life would not survive and the human population would suffer and eventually die out.
Finally, the black hole theory is similar to the sun’s death theory because it wont happen for a couple billion years, but it would be interesting to us on earth to see what earth’s actual fate is, the sun or the black hole. In conclusion, no one can be sure on how the earth’s population will end but this article does a fantastic job representing many different view points on the subject. Personally, I think that the 1/1000 chance of an asteroid hitting earth is the way that the human race will cease.

In the article, The End of the World, by Dr. Costello, several scenarios are considered in terms of how the world will end. The ideas of a giant meteor, nuclear war, sun expansion, disease, and black holes are all debated thoroughly and Dr. Costello comes to the conclusion that most likely all of the energy on earth will become heat before any of the other scenarios happen.

Personally I believe that the world will end in accordance with the second law of thermodynamics or sun expansion. The ideas of disease or nuclear war simply do not seem feasible to me. This is because humanity will have a say in these ideas. People are continually researching disease and coming up with new ways of combating it and so far humanity has not been wiped out by disease so it does not seem likely to me. Nuclear war also does not seem likely. If there was going to be a nuclear war it would have happened during the cold war, but because of the idea of mutually assured destruction it did not happen. During the Cold War both states had enough weapons to destroy the world and we were very close to engaging in nuclear war. However, because of mutually assured destruction neither country was willing to use the weapons. China may claim that they do not care about human life, but the United States has enough nuclear weapons to completely destroy all life in China. Even if China were to fire twenty nuclear weapons at our twenty most populous cities we would destroy everything in China and we would still be standing as a country. Also, China needs us economically to remain functional. The idea of a meteor also seems unlikely because the chances are so slim and because humanity would attempt to destroy the meteor if it was on a collision course with earth. The only ideas that seem likely are the second law of thermodynamics, sun expansion, or a black hole. The black hole would certainly destroy the earth, but I think it would simply take to long for the earth to get close enough to a black hole to be destroyed. The second law of thermodynamics or sun expansion both seem like the way the earth will be destroyed, but I am not sure which will happen first. I believe that sun expansion is more likely because humanity could develop a way to conserve more energy in order to stave off the second law of thermodynamics.

The End of the World, by Dr. Costello, is an interesting article that examines how the world will be destroyed. Several plausible theories are examined, however, we still do not know for certain how the world will end.

As poet, Robert Frost, said, “Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice”. I think it will end in either fire or ice, but I do not know which one for sure. It is hard to tell when the world will end. If it ends in fire, I think it will be in billions of years because the Sun will expand into a red giant and explode killing all life on our planet, Earth. If it ends in ice, I think will be billions of years from now because the world will end after the Sun burns out causing a cooling effect over the planets.

There is a fifty-fifty chance that the end of the world will either end in fire or ice.

I do not put my favor in either of the possible causes for the end of the world. I hope it ends in fire because it would happen so fast we would not realize it. However, the Sun would have to turn into a red giant, which would be so large that the Earth would be engulfed by the Sun at that point, burned, melted and absorbed into the red giant. The heat from the Sun’s explosion would be so intense that all living things would burn up and turn to ash.

If heat does not end the world, then ice will. Once, the Sun turns into the red giant, then it will shrink into a white dwarf, and then it will cool into a black dwarf. And without the sunlight our world will go into a cooling effect and we will all freeze into the icy surface. Without the heat source, plants would no longer be able to sustain life. All animals that depend on plant life for food would starve and life would end. The planet would become cold and barren, just like Pluto and Neptune, unable to support life.

In conclusion, the world as we know would come to an end without the Sun. With the Sun being the center of our universe, and our main energy source, life would end without the Sun. Extreme heat or cold would be detrimental to life on Earth. The chances are split right down the middle with whether fire or ice will end the world. “Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice”, I think fire is more probable.

There are many hypotheses about how would the world end, but how would anyone know for sure. Even though we know for sure that the sun will lose its power due to using up its hydrogen supply, but it will probably happen in couple of billions years. The real question is then what would happen sooner that would destroy our world. According to the article: “20 ways the world could end swept away”, the author speculates about the potential causes of the destruction of our world such as asteroid impact, environmental toxins and global warming.
Asteroid impact is a hypothetical cause of world destruction. Scientists estimate that an asteroid will hit the earth in couple of millions of years. The asteroid will probably hit the oceans in unpopulated areas. The asteroid will have such a huge impact that it will destroy humans as well as the rest of the civilization.
Environmental toxins can be another cause of our extinction. Scientists hypothesize that pollutants from the environment especially carcinogens such as dioxins can cause decrease fertility among humans. For example: Dioxins, which is a chemical that has similar effect to human hormone can contribute to potentially dangerous reduction of fertility and thus the effect can contribute to the reduction of our survival
Global warming is another potential cause of human extinction. According to the article, global warming contributes to the change in heat of our planet. This heat from our planet would attract many pathogens as well as parasites that would find changing climate conditions very suitable for their survival. In addition, scientists predict that the earth would be as hot as planet Venus due to changing environmental conditions.
Finally, scientists believe that humans thru advance technologies such as genetic engineering can contribute to our extinction. Scientists believe that genetically modified food is not as safe as it sounds. There is a danger of ingesting foreign DNA that could not be safe. No one really knows what influence on our health will genetically modified food have.
In conclusion, many scientists and people propose ideas about how would the world really end. Scientists know that the energy from sun will eventually be used up and the sun will not longer provide light for photosynthesis and thus we will not be able to get food energy, however that will not happen for many years. Now, many people propose that the earth will end sooner thru: the constant production of pollutants, global warming and asteroid impact.

There are many theories to how and when the world will end one day. Some people thought the world was going to end in the year 2000; some people think it will end in the year 2012. There are many theories to how the world will end such as global warming, asteroids, natural disasters, etc. I believe the world will end from global warming and added space problems.
Global warming occurs due to people’s lack of taking care of their “land.” People pollute the air with gasoline from machines, smoke, and burning things. They also can pollute the air when they do not dispose of items properly because those items will become embedded into the earth and produce toxic chemicals in the air. Not only does these chemicals danger humans they also danger the ozone layer. The ozone layer is a “protective shield” that keeps oxygen on Earth and protects the people from the heat of the sun. But due to global warming the ozone layer is depleting and is becoming a very thin layer. This will allow the sun to extend its rays onto the Earth at a higher temperature. Over time as the ozone layer keeps depleting the sun will get extremely hot and unbearable for human life and nature. Also due to the thin ozone layer, this will allow more chemicals from space entering the Earth. This may cause many people to get sick and die. Along with chemicals entering the Earth there is a possibility rocks such as asteroids and meteoroids may fall more rapidly on the World.
Time can only tell on when the Earth will truly end and die. People can prolong this occurrence by doing daily things to save their planet. People can use electric cars and dispose of chemicals in the proper way which will prevent less pollution. Little things people do everyday can help keep the ozone layer strong so the sun rays cannot melt away the Earth or allow harmful chemicals to enter.
Theories are created by people with different beliefs and propose their ideas to the world. It is anyone’s decision on what they really believe but no one can tell the truth about how the Earth will end. It is impossible to predict such a big event when there are many different factors to the end of the World. I believe that the Earth will end due to global warming and the lack of taking care of the Earth. The World will end up having a thin ozone layer allowing the sun rays to beam down at high temperatures, heating up everything. Again this is only a theory and only time can tell on the actual truth.

The term “world” is entirely relative to whoever perceives it; therefore this world ends at different times to each individual upon death. I believe it is extremely foolish to contemplate any ultimate end to all existence because it simply does not exist: there is simply the transfer of energy and we fail to acknowledge that the way this is perceived and mentally registered may change with the change in bodily state. I am Jewish, and it is explicitly forbidden to contemplate what goes on after death because the Torah relates it is a waste of life and only reveals a place called “Sheol” where the dead are congregated, which I wholeheartedly believe to be accurate because it means everyone is together, regardless of our decisions in life. I am not, however, any form of zealot and I view science as the physical, perceived expressions of G-d; I have merged my beliefs with science. Conclusively, I believe the world ends when any creature capable of grasping death dies.
The world can end for any being capable of perceiving and understanding death. Henceforth it is not limited to humans. For example, Koko, a gorilla made popular by the media for giving humans insight to her world by use of sign language, was able to express grief for both her pet kitten, All Ball, and her companion, Michael. She was able to make up words for Michael’s attempted resuscitation and exhibited cries gorillas commonly make when they are unwillingly separated from one another, did not want to be alone, and wanted her lights left on overnight. She was also signed that she was sad because All Ball died and sad because Michael was gone (Koko.org). She could clearly understand the concept of death. Another animal behavior, which humans also exude, is the desire to stay with loved ones long after they are gone. For example, a German Shepherd Dog named Cash stayed with her owner’s body for six weeks after he committed suicide, protecting it from predators. After that time the dog was able to lead someone to the site of the body and was happily returned to the rest of the family (Pankratz). The dog was through with denial and mourning and was able to provide comfort and support to the rest of the family thereafter. Both of these prove that animals are capable of comprehending death.
The correct conclusion to draw from the previous information is not that animals exhibit human behaviors but that humans exhibit animal behaviors based on our instincts. Death and the end of a specific world was sometimes reckoned with in ancient times by willing burials of entire courts or armies, like that of the Terracotta Warriors near Xi’an, China and a royal grave in Ur, ancient Sumer/Mesopotamia, where loyal servants ingested poisonous liquids as sacrifices in order to be buried with their king or local ruler (Helstad). In essence, humans simply tend to take steps more obviously towards whatever believed afterlife exists. I feel that animals also have this ability because my dog had an enormous tumor in her stomach yet was able to die somewhat quickly in a mere span of two weeks. Tumors of that size grow slowly over time. The variable? Exactly two weeks before she died we got a puppy to help revitalize her. In my opinion, she must have felt better leaving us with another guardian that would serve all of the same functions she did as a companion. She did not appear nervous at the veterinarian’s office and did not struggle when they injected her as my dad comforted her.
The concept of being at peace is something that varies greatly among humans. Some of us die very calmly while others struggle, panic, or simply do not see it coming. Interestingly to me it seems that humans have a greater capacity for fear in anticipation whereas many animals simply know when it is time to go and seem to be able to accept it. This difference in attitude seems to me a detrimental evolution because of all the fear that goes into the process of preparing for death. Afterlives and reincarnation have obviously evolved in the human mind as coping mechanisms for, again, fear of the unknown. From a scientific perspective, the theory of moving into another dimension of existence serves the very same purpose, especially when linked with the theory that the right temporal lobe is actually a doorway of sorts. Although some would argue that our energy goes into being food and our heat radiates into our surroundings I would like to challenge that with the fact that supernatural occurrences are often accompanied by a drop in temperature and, on occasion, can have heat signatures for where an apparition is supposedly sitting or standing (Blog Archive). This possible jumping of dimensions can be explained by heat radiation; whatever appears uses heat as its fuel to come back and must retain it to stay. In that case I have no fear of death but most of the ghosts you hear about have tragic stories behind them because their existence in the perceivable world was cut off when they were unprepared. Perhaps the right temporal lobe goes through a subconscious process before we die in order to prepare and we can only harvest the fruits of this labor once we are dead? It is one thing of many only the dead may know.
In conclusion, the world ends once you are no longer able to perceive it. Therefore death is entirely relative and different for each individual. In my opinion, there is no real point to fatalism or imagination to how the world will end because it takes up time you could have living and being productive, especially if it does not come during your lifetime. In that case it does not matter how the world will end because you will not be there to witness it or be harmed. The world clearly ends when any creature capable of perceiving it dies, otherwise the plane of existence is on another layer of space and time thus rendering our here and now nonexistent. The real question is: Do we come to the world or does it come to us through an alteration on the time/space fabric as perception differs perhaps through the human brain?

The End of The World

As a firm believer in the teachings of Jesus Christ and of the Bible, I would like to present that the earth will not only end as the Bible predicts, but that science itself bears testimony to the validity of the Bible.
According to the Second law of Thermodynamics, all energy is converted into heat. This law held true, eventually the world will become a giant ball of fire. And, if that does not happen first, then fiery rays from the sun will barbecue the earth with amazing intensity. The Bible also predicts this ending to the world in 2 Peter chapter 3, verse 10: “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire; and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare”. Isaiah, a book from the Old Testament says that “ the Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire” (Isaiah 29:6). Not only will the end of the earth arrive with an all-consuming fire, but also with an “earthquake” and a “windstorm”. In an article from BBC News, it is said that natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and floods are claiming more lives than they ever have before (news.bbc). Prophecies about the end times are coming true all over the world and the Bible provides support for everyone. As for when all of this will take place, the Bible tells us that “No one know about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Matthew 24:36). This verse in itself gives us no reason to predict the end of the world because only God the Father knows.
Although the Bible tells of a rather frightening ending to this world, there is hope for those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The infamous verse John 3:16 tells us that “For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. Without God’s love for us as His creation, we are destined to burn in the fire that will consume the earth. For those that have chosen Jesus as their savior and those that have not, Luke chapter 21, verse 27 says that “At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory”.
The end of the world will most definitely be a sight to see! To write on all that will happen with the ending of the earth as according to the Bible would take pages, in fact, it would take a whole book to write the story of God’s judgment, mercy, and redemption through his Son. The Bible holds the truth to God’s plan. I would also recommend reading such books as “A Case for a Creator” and “A Case for Christ” both by Lee Strobel. In both of these books, Strobel provides scientific and Biblical evidence as to the existence of a creator and Jesus Christ.

Personally, I do not believe in the thought that the world will end in the year 2012. My theory is that nobody can pin point what day or what year the world will come to an end because miracles and things happens that are unexplainable and it would be impossible to predict such a thing. For example, we weren’t supposed to make it to 2000 but look at us; we are almost a decade beyond that thought. Also, people think that we are destroying our earth and nobody cares about what’s going on, but in reality we do care and so many green movements are going on and you would be surprised of all the people who are taking a huge step to making our environment much better.
There are numerous scientific theories behind this idea and the first one is that there is a huge change in the earth’s magnetic field. Scientists have been observing these changes and have seen the strengths of the magnetic field weaken. During the time of the dinosaurs, the magnetic field was 2.5 gauss, and 80 percent stronger than it is now. However, we cannot predict the behavior of the planet and it is clear that anything can happen. It is clear that we are much more technically advanced and I think we have a greater chance of making a change because we can regulate what’s going on and try to see what we can do to stop it. The next theory is the increase of solar flare. It is said to happen in 2012 and when it happens, it could last a few days. During those days there will be no power, cell phones and if the solar flares are worse than we can lose power for a long amount of time which will include the loss of power of automobiles and we could face radiation poisoning. The last scientific theory has to do with the enlignment with the earth and the Milky Way. It is said that the flares can begin as soon as 2010 as soon as the earth is starting to move towards the Milky Way. They could also begin in 2011 or just wait till 2012 when we have reached the center of the Milky Way.
All in all, I think that the world can end at any given day and we should just try to prevent damage to our environment and try to take steps in making earth a better place. We physically cannot control the end of the world but I think all we can do is try to make the place we call home a better place to live. I truly believe that we all die when we are supposed to and if it’s in the year 2012, then so be it.

For many years now, people have been predicting that the world will end in the year 2012. Perhaps it is because of Nostradamus’s predictions, or because the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. Whatever the reason, some people believe that the Earth is showing us signs that we are currently living in End Times as described in the Bible. NASA has predicted that there will be sun spots and solar flare ups, this time greater in number and intensity than in previous years. While solar flare ups are a natural occurrence, the number and intensity that are predicted for the coming future are what have people talking about them causing or adding to the possible end of the world. Some feel that these sun spots and solar flares will cause electrical failures and satellite disruption on the lower end of the damage scale, while others think that they will cause the temperature on Earth to rise causing great devastation.

There is also a lot of talk that the Earth will experience a polar reversal. This would do exactly what it sounds like; it would cause north to become South, and the Sun to rise in the West. This type of event would cause massive destruction to Earth. There would be massive earthquakes, unimaginable tidal waves (tsunamis) far greater than the one that occurred just a short time ago and killed over two hundred thousand people. There would also be massive, simultaneous volcanic eruptions. Man-made creations would suffer complete destruction. The most devastating of these destructions would be the crumbling of nuclear reactors. There are so many man-made weapons that would possibly detonate that if everything on Earth weren’t killed or destroyed due to the reversal, then whatever was left would surely be finished off in the aftermath.

There has also been a lot of talk about the planets coming into alignment, thus causing a great magnetic shift in the universe. NASA has stated that this isn’t going to happen.

I don’t know what to think about all of the talk that is out there. When I spend too long thinking about it, I end up scaring myself and fearing the thought that I won’t get to see my kids grow up. While I don’t think that the planets are going to all line up and knock the Earth off its axis or anything quite that dramatic, I don’t think that it’s impossible that something might be coming. I also don’t think that we are going to see a polar reversal. I think that there would need to be a force beyond our imagination in order for there to be a polar reversal. While our Earth spins in a delicate balance, I don’t think that a polar reversal is something that we should fear. Besides, if the Earth managed to undergo this type of event, there would be nothing that we could do about it, so why worry about it happening.

The Mayans were pretty accurate in the calendars that they created, and the fact that it ends in 2012 can either be explained as they foresaw the end of the world back when they created the calendar or perhaps they just thought they had done enough. Perhaps they thought that they had documented enough for the coming civilizations and that by the year 2012 we, as a race of intelligent beings, would be able to figure out where to pick up where they left off. Or, perhaps they just got tired of putting down all their knowledge for future generations.

No matter what we think about what is going to happen in the year 2012, we can’t stop living now. If there is a polar reversal, no matter how many freeze-dried meals you have, you probably won’t be able to survive what happens after. If the Earth just stops supporting human life in the year 2012, what type of preparation can you go through that would get you through that? And would you want to survive it after most of mankind has ceased to exist? Ever since I became a parent twenty years ago, I have feared losing one or both of my children. While I do fear that the world will end in 2012, I try not to let that fear overtake me. I try to let my kids live their lives experiencing the great things that this life has to offer them. I try to just enjoy the time that we are being given, and hope that we have way more than just three more years together. Even writing this article makes me hope that all of the “nervous nellys” are wrong. The world might end in 2012, or it might end tomorrow, or it might go on for another two billion years. How can we know when the end will come? If there was a way to know, would you really want someone to tell you when it was coming? I would just want to be able to kiss my kids and tell them I love them one last time, so I would only need a few minutes notice.

I do believe in Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) and my grandfather tested his ability on me when we first lived and worked together. He put me in a room surrounded with books and blinded himself while I picked one book out of the whole library room. He was able to identify the one book I chose without seeing the chosen book ahead of time or peeking. I respected him and, if he were alive today, I might have the ability myself to answer this question through my own ESP. He was a genius and a university professor. It is very hard for me to decide which way would end the world without my special ability. There are many evil people in this world and who knows which one of them might step up to the plate to take control of the world or what weapons they may use to do it. The evil-doers of our world may use chemical, biological, or radiological weapons of mass destruction at their disposal. Pathogens are very dangerous and criminal minds have used these weapons against the U.S. through various means in the past. War through infectious diseases could devastate the world in a similar fashion as Nuclear weapons of destruction. But diseases or viruses wouldn’t spread as fast as the instantaneous result of a nuclear bomb.

China is our biggest threat at this time. If a madman were to take over China and use a form of deception to boldly attack Americans, there is no telling what he/she is capable of later on. Also, Bin Laden is another major threat to a secure and comfortable American society and possibly the world. He has many followers and has been in hiding for a very long time without anyone squealing on him. Al-Qaida members may do anything for their leader. People like him are a major threat to peace and unity in this world. Sometimes I wonder if our recently retired President was a threat also. He screwed up so bad and pissed off enough people that he may have created madmen out of animosity towards him and his poor decision-making.

2012 end of the world is not true for me but I tried to find facts that would prove that the world would end in 2012. one article that I found was saying that there are things in the history that can prove that the end of the world is near. One is that “Albert Einstein said if the honey bees were suddenly gone mankind would have about 4 years left to live. Well, the honey bees are going extinct now and at the present rate in another year or so there will be no more honey bees left on earth. One year from now plus another 4 years gives us the year 2012”

N.A.S.A also predicts that the sun will reverse its magnetic poles in 2012 as a result of reaching the end of 11-year sunspot cycle. And also the prophecy of St. Malachy that there would only be 112 popes until the world ends and currently, Pope Benedict XVI is the 111th pope. And in numerology,” every number has a corresponding letter associated with it. The date 12-21-12 reads as, A-B-B-A-A-B. When you consider that the Hebrew language is read from right to left, this date would read BA ABBA.

So basically there’s a lot of things there that would prove the 2012 end of the world but I still don’t believe in it because until now, there is no valid reason or valid prediction on how will it end, there are still too many questions to be answered and things to be proved. Besides, it’s still in 2012 and its only 2009 so why bother? Maybe they can just focus on more visible problems in the society before they think about the future that is not proven yet. Because we’ll never know what exact date or when the doomsday would actually come, we don’t need to prepare for it or even bother thinking on how to escape it. Because when it ends… IT ENDS, no life, no escape, no chance of living, just like when someone’s in comatose, you can never do anything about it, once the person is brain dead, and it’s already his time to die, he’ll die and no one can do something about it, no one can bring anyone back to life… Just remember that nothing is permanent in this world, we will all be gone sooner or later so why bother thinking of doomsday, why just don’t spend the rest of your life having fun and trying to live better…=)
